We had the good fortune of connecting with Jarrel Hanna and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jarrel, what role has risk played in your life or career?
As a woman who usually goes against the grain. Risk can be necessary to achieve your end goal. We may not always have a clear path in the direction we’d like to go in so taking that risk is your only means to getting there. For me that has been the story of my entrepreneur career. Continuous rush to complete the vision be it opening a trending nail studio in a small town, leading yoga classes in a community that didn’t see it as a true resource or hosting wellness retreats with no guide , just vision and execution. Risk are sometimes necessary and often times rewarding when met with pure intentions..
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Truthfully I am most proud of the fact that I operate on “purpose” in all that I do. If I had to choose I would say that most recently I am proud of walking in the vision of a retreat facilitator. Holding safe spaces for individuals who desire to heal and flourish in self development. It’s a true honor to be a light along the path of someone else’s journey and I do not take that lightly. Is it easy holding and creating these spaces. Behind the scenes… absolutely not! As with anything that you have to dedicate yourself to in order to achieve it is extremely challenging both mentally and emotionally. Having an amazing support system of people to trust to run over ideas and help troubleshoot as well as find resources is what holds it all together. It helps to have a home team that you can cry to and that will pick you up when your passion seems to get the best of you. The most important thing I’ve learned along the way is to continuously cultivate Balance. Life is short and you don’t want to overwhelm yourself too the point where you don’t enjoy your journey. The thing that I would like people to know most about my brand is that we are all deserving of peace, joy and rest! We navigate through our days with so much going on around us and so much to attend to. The reminder that you are also a priority is my biggest message. For all that you give others be sure to pour into and love on yourself in the most positive and effective ways.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
FE Pops for dinner or brunch. Jazz on Dargan for an early band sessions.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents have always guided and instilled in us that we can do anything we set our minds too. But not only that they have always supported us by helping to build on our deans in whatever way they can. Either by showing up, lending a hand or providing resources. I truly feel that as a result we in turn have always attracted friends and community that are genuinely supportive and there to help at any moment. Also my husband for fully standing in my corner and helping me to build on my ideas in addition to my siblings.
