We had the good fortune of connecting with Jared Alexndr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jared, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe and feel that my entire career has been based on taking a risks. I take the risk of believing in myself and my musicianship and it has payed off in ways that I never could have imagined.
Went to Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University for a new music industry program.
Moving to Tennessee to further my education in Recording industry program at Middle Tennessee State University
Ended up Dropping out of college to pursuer music full time.
I quickly landed a Cruise Job that took me around the entire world on tour as apart of the B.B. Kings All Star Band.
After a few years of being Phillip Phillips band member, my musicianship was recognized and I was promoted to the position of Music director, a role I still serve in today.
Two years later, I relocated from Nashville to Atlanta which is now my home. After years of dedication and commitment to my craft, I feel like the rewards are finally being reaped. I now have a fully operational recording studio downtown Atlanta where I’m developing new artists. I’m also in the process of creating my very own Record Label and opening up a new performance Event Space.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel my sound is unique, and my passion for what I do shines through in my music. It’s a true reflection of my creative spirit. When it comes to production, I let inspiration take the lead, allowing fresh ideas to manifest spontaneously. I’m fascinated with the many different instruments, because using them allows you to paint with the full spectrum of musical colors and sounds.
My music is a rich representation of all my experiences over the years. I started with a dream to create and never wavered from that vision which brought me to where I am today. For me, creating music is creating art.
The road to success hasn’t been smooth. I’ve faced numerous challenges and never received any handouts. Yet, divine guidance has always paved the way for me.
***The message I want to leave everyone with is this: never stop taking risks. When you calculate your risks wisely, that’s where the magic happens.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are too many options here in the city. Dope vibes every where. Even in all the surrounding cities & areas
I usually hang out downtown. One of my favorite places to eat is Slim & Husky’s Pizza. Dope black owned business.
My other spot is a Mexican resturant called No Mas Hacienda also located Downtown Atlanta in the Castleberry Hill community.
.
Theres always Buckhead, midtown, Cumberland mall, braves stadium, State Farm arena, Mercedes dome
What I love about the city is that there’s a million things to. The culture is everywhere.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents who saw my love and passion for music and continually supported me throughout all these years. From lessons to making me practice. I was naturally good but they always pushed me to go harder.
I come from a very musical family. My Uncle Kenneth Jackson was a huge influence and inspiration to me and is the reason I started the trumpet as my 1st main instrument.
He started musical Non profit named “Street beat” in South Bay FL, which was a beacon of light in the arts for the youth in this small South Florida community.
Definitely have to give thanks to God who continues to be my guide through this journey.
Some current mentors include Fred Williams of Level 3 Associates and Andy Newby of CoverMe Worldwide who sees my vision and have partnered to help bring it all to reality.
