We had the good fortune of connecting with Janelle Weithers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janelle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a real estate single agent, it was hard for me to find a small- education centered brokerage where I had a direct connection and contact with my broker. I wanted to create a space that was intimate, members shared accountability and we all uplift and take each other to the next level. When I was eligible to get my broker’s license I hopped on the opportunity. I spent the last few years learning the ins and out of management building and leading my team while creating my vision.

What should our readers know about your business?
The journey to owning my own brokerage was not an easy one. It took a lot of time, patience, research and knowledge. In order to lead others you must have the mindset of a leader and the experience of 500 agents. In the last 10 years I have probably touched over 3,000+ contracts. I have an abundance of experience with contract disputes, broker to broker issues and outside vendors which allow me to pivot the most difficult situations while creating unique solutions.

One of the most important lesson I have learned is that, in the professional world it is important to remember that business is business and everyone is not a personal connection. As a licensee, it is our job to educate our clients so that they can make the best decision for themselves. Building a solid educational background is the top priority for our team and myself. I am proud to have built my brokerage to the level we are at now and also opening up my Real Estate Continuing Education School, JWR Learning Center.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is my favorite city, i’m not just saying this because I live here but truly it is. To start the day off we would for sure grab lunch at Chopt or Jinya. Our day might consist of walking thru Cumberland mall because Lenox is just a little too scary right now. As we ease into the evening, we would stop by one of my new favorite bars for a pre-dinner rooftop drinks, ReVerb. When our reservations are ready, we are heading to the Buckhead shops for dinner at Le Colonial. Ordering everything and taking anything we didn’t finish to go. We might walk over to the Regent for a little after-dinner social hour but this is where the fun ends! Home & Bed, we are getting old.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my entire team that has assisted me in building my brand and educating buyers and sellers to the closing table. Without them, there wouldn’t be a JWeithersRealty.
