We had the good fortune of connecting with Janell Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janell, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Maya Angelou This quote means so much to me. It’s pretty much my businesses mission statement. Our goal is to make every client feel like our only client. I’ve had so many clients say everytime I call or text you somehow respond so quickly. How do you do that with so many cients? I never feel like I’m just another client with you. We take the time to remember our client’s kids birthdays, hobbies, favorite color etc. In a world where money is always a businesses number 1 motivation ours is simply providing a excellent home buying/selling experience and to make sure every client feels like our only client.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
So I got my real estate license in 2007 and I definitely had a slow start. I am originally from Harlem, New York so I didn’t have the sphere of influence that most people have when they start in Real Estate. I moved here to Atlanta a few years before that. I just remember my broker at the time saying you need to rely on your sphere for deals and I’m thinking to myself I’m young most of my friends aren’t ready to buy a home so what sphere is he talking about. I eventually started prospecting for business with cold calling and it was then that my business took off. I would say one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that rejection is apart of the sales business and that you have to develop thick skin to make it in this industry. I think one of the things that definitely sets me apart is my responsiveness. I’ve had so many clients that may have had another Realtor before me and they ended up ending the relationship because of the lack of communication and responsiveness. When someone is purchasing or selling a home they are nervous and usually afraid of something going wrong they need to be able to reach their Realtor whenever there is a concern. I am pretty much on call for my clients and always ready to be of help.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I just love Atlanta and I love showing any of my friends or family that comes into town here a good time! We would definitely have brunch at 9 mile station in Ponce City Market. Definitely a little shopping at Phipps Plaza. Pre covid I would say we would catch a Hawks game. Dinner at Hals for the best rib eye EVER and some of the strongest well made drinks. To experience a little Atlanta night life we would go to Gold Room. Avalon and Halcyon are also my go to for a great day with the family a little corn hole, great food, drinks and people watching.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my husband for his continued support. I must admit balancing work and home is always a juggle but he never seems to mind my late nights in the office or constant emailing and texting. He is my biggest supporter and I am truly blessed to have him.
