We had the good fortune of connecting with Janae Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janae, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
When it comes to knowing whether to keep going or give up honestly it’s hard. It’s hard because some days are better then others. But coming from a single mother’s perspective I know I have no choice but to keep going. In my life I have to balance work life, being a full time parent as well as trying to run as business with almost little to no help. I mean don’t get me wrong I have a few people if needed I can call them for some help whenever needed, but everyone has their own life and own problems. I try not to need people because I’m always trying to figure things out on my own the best that I can. I juggle a lot daily and some days I want to completely throw the towel and give up. Some days you may have 20 bookings and some days you may have 0 bookings. It’s all a matter of staying consistent no matter what. Some days you may make $1000 and some days you may only make $60. But we have to know that slow motions is always better then no motion. My kids are my motivation and they keep me going. I know my kids are my biggest motivation so even when I do feel discouraged I always find ways to snap myself out of it because I know I would never want to disappoint my sons. My boys are my world and they speak so highly of me. They tell me daily that I’m the best mother ever and that alone keeps me smiling on the inside and out even when I feel I’m just so drained. They keep me going. So my advice to anyone whether you’re a business owner, a parent, a wife etc. Never give up because with a prayer and a plan we can overcome every obstacle thrown our way.

What should our readers know about your business?
As far as my business honestly I won’t hold you too long but I will say when I started this business I sat down one day texting my homegirl telling her I wanted to do this business and the next week I was getting booked like crazy. Honestly, I was so proud of myself because I stepped out on faith. I’ve had good days and I’ve had bad days but I stayed true to myself through the good and the bad days. I communicate well with my customers, I try my best to accommodate everyone. Sometimes I even change my prices to work for others. Which sometimes can be a loss for me but I know I love helping others and I know sometimes I will go above and beyond for people who prolly wouldn’t do the same for me but that’s okay. I’ve learned that my purpose here on earth is to love others even if that means giving more love then I’ll ever receive. And I know everything I do is coming from the heart and I never expect anything in return from anyone. Always having a great attitude about everything no matter what is what keeps me so different from others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, anyone that knows me know that I am not a going out person. LOL I don’t really like big crowds and I don’t drink or things of that nature. I’m more of a laid back individual so my ideal type of fun day for me would be so fun as to bowling, a nice picnic with the kids or even just a good relaxing girls trip to the beach or something for the girls and I. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Major and HUGE Shout out to first and foremost my mother(DeeDee). Without her there would be no me. And secondly I would LOVE to shout out my amazing boyfriend(Keenan). The one who’s been so supportive of me since day one. God knows I work his nerves and we don’t always agree on everything but in the end whatever I decide he’s going to do whatever to make it happen for me. Whether it’s buying inventory or just simply listening to me vent after a long day. Lastly, my girl Taylor. The friend I can call to do a event for me spur of the moment whether I’m just too tired or if I just need help, she’s one call away and she’s always there.
