We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamila Antoinette and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamila Antoinette, what do you attribute your success to?
One of the most important factors behind the success of my brand was and is still my belief in what I put out into the world. One thing that I know about people is that they can pick up on when someone is just following a trend vs following their heart. Yes, I know that trends are a “thing” now but when you become brave enough to be your own trend and believe in what you put into the earth, people who you have never met will begin to support you as if they knew you all your life because they believe in your business, brand and or content because YOU believe in your business, brand, and content.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other creatives is simply my story. I am not afraid to share my truths and the things that I have experienced. Yes, we may have similar stories, but MY story is MY story and it made me into the woman that the world gets to experience every day. I use to be ashamed of the things that I went through whether it was self-inflicted or not.
One day I was sitting on my bedroom floor in tears because I had just gotten fired from one of my jobs and it shifted my household’s finances. It was that day when I had my enough is enough moment and I obeyed God concerning his will for my life. By simply sharing my story and my truth, I discovered my superpower lies in my words and how I shared these stories.
I am the Founder and CEO of FAITH CITY CENTER INC. As a mother of two, I am determined to elevate the gifts of others by sharing the gospel in a straightforward way that has moved thousands to surrender their lives to Christ.
My compelling story testifies how God can restore you even after the loss of my oldest son and after being told I would not be able to carry a child full term. I stand before you as an accomplished parent, who runs a business while showing others how to do the same.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
OMG! Tacos & Tequila is a MUST visit! The food and drinks are amazing and you will definitely always have a good time. The Civil Rights Museum is another place to check out. Right in the heart of Atlanta, this museum is filled with some of the most AMAZING facts and stories of what took place right in Atlanta, Ga during those times.
Next on our trip is definitely a visit to Ponce City Market! It’s a great shopping experience and just a place to get away and relax while enjoying your stay in the city!
Lastly, we can’t end this trip without a visit to Momentum City Church with Senior Pastor Thomas L. Cody in Conyers, Ga! This is truly an amazing place for the entire family to worship together
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate THIS shoutout FIRST to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I would not be on this journey without him.
To my sons Aiden & Braxton(my hearts) and my family, they are the reason that I go so hard. Nowhere but UP! #GenerationalCurseBreaker
To my close friends Kendra Conyers, Ayanna Forrester, Santana Clay, and Xavier Harris THANK YOU for always being a listening ear and never allowing me to settle. I am blessed to call you all friends.
To the ladies of FAITH CITY CENTER and She Became Women’s Ministry, thank you for your support and community to what we are building! I couldn’t do this without you!
