We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Means and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamie, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
To me work life balance is essential to being able to manage everything that I do; prior to having my daughter, work life balance was non-existent in my world, I would dedicate a lot of time to work and would rest whenever I could. After having my daughter and wanting to be present for her while juggling everything that I do with the business, work, motherhood, and school, I decided to implement tools and boundaries to ensure that I have a true work life balance strategy.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
JMM Consulting Agency is a small consulting firm specializing in the public health and healthcare industries. Our consulting work areas are Health Equity, Health Policy & Management, Workforce Development, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Health Disparities, Social Determinants of Health, and Curriculum Planning & Development.
We are different from our competitors in that we are client-focused and are engaged in conversations at the local and state level regarding public health and healthcare concerns in Nashville and throughout the rest of the state of Tennessee.
I am proud of the company’s ability to adapt and explore new business ventures and ideas, in addition to its ability to catch the attention of prominent community leaders and stakeholders.
I want your readers to know that the JMM Consulting Agency brand is geared toward helping others grow and improve themselves and their businesses. Aside from our consulting services, we offer professional development services for individuals looking to enter or transition within the workforce. Those services include resume writing, cover letter writing, and interview preparation.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am not physically in Atlanta, I am in the Nashville, Tennessee area, but serve clients in Atlanta. I would encourage visitors, especially those with a family, to visit the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola, the Fox Theatre, and Zoo Atlanta.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mother, Angela Means, who lost her battle to Covid-19 in 2021. My mother was the main driver behind my success, professional brand, and personal brand.
