We had the good fortune of connecting with James and Natasha King and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi James and Natasha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting our own business came from a desire to function in our purpose. We knew that God gave us an incredible vision to meet a need in other people. From that point, we’ve identified vehicles that would support the vision.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As an entrepreneurial couple and a homeschool family we spend a lot of time together. That’s intentional. Our focus is love, marriage and partnership – three aspects that many don’t practice comprehensively. We teach these three principles at home and in the marketplace because we have a responsibility to genuinely present who we are to those that we serve. It is an honor for us to know that the leadership that we are recognized for publicly is first respected at home with our son. Having a shared vision in our home sets the tone for how tenacious we are in our work, the gratitude we have in any circumstance, and the focus we have in moving from one checkpoint to the next.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A week-long visit would definitely be a treat! Food would be a combination of some good ole southern hospitality (because we cook around here), and visits to some of our favorite spots: Mama Nature Juice Bar, Zea, Bravo’s and Starbucks. Taking in some rich history at the Two Mississippi Museums, The Capital and a drive to the Mississippi delta to visit the BB King museum, Grammy museum and a rare treat to the Delta Corner for some of the most amazing food. The rest of the week would be filled with walks at the reservoir, boutique shopping and coffee at Barnes & Noble.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Everything that we have accomplished is all God. The way that He has worked through every person, situation, and resource has been undeniably invaluable. The bounds of possibility are depleted when we attempt to list every person and/or organization that has played a part in any part of our success. We thank God for each of them, because we definitely did not do this alone.
