We had the good fortune of connecting with Jameal Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jameal, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
My customer reactions keep me going. When my customers thank me for creating a seasoning they can use everyday without the worry of health issues such as hypertension and high cholesterol, I know I have to keep going. Giving up would be the easy way out. But I challenge myself everyday to continue to find ways to market myself and my business so that I can reach more people.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Seasoned By Mea products are handmade and all natural. I was able to create flavorful seasonings without using additives or flavor enhancers. Although the are named after proteins such as steak they are mostly vegan. I am proud of all of my accomplishments. Word of mouth is a powerful tool that I’ve been using to obtain customers. I also use many social media platforms, magazine and podcast interviews, as well as pop up shops. I’ve learned some tough lessons during my entrepreneurial period. One is to believe in your work and others will believe in you as well. Seasoned By Mea is available for all of your seasoning needs.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my bestfriend comes to town we are definitely checking out the Atlanta Breakfast Club to start our day, Hanging out at the Trap Music Museum, Catching lunch at Triton Yard, having a drink of Irving Whiskey, and enjoying our night at Suite Food Lounge.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my family! My Spouse, Siblings, Niece and Nephews are my drive when I have felt like I was unable to move forward. Especially my niece, she’s my unofficial CEO and makes sure to keep me working. I would also like to dedicate a shoutout to my friends, social media family, fellow entrepreneurs, and customers. Those spontaneous encouraging messages are more appreciated than words could describe.
