We had the good fortune of connecting with JaLyssa Jenkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JaLyssa, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
That’s simple…..NEVER GIVE UP!! I know personally that life happens to everyone, some things are out of our control. Learn to adjust…..PIVOT. Go back to the drawing board and figure out how you’re gonna reroute your journey to success. But again, NEVER GIVE UP!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The creativity that flows through me shines bright in the form of taste. The ancestors blessed me with the ability to make food taste good, which I feel is ESSENTIAL. The peculiar blends of aromatic herbs and spices that I specially curate, with love, is what sets me apart from others. The flavor combinations that I come up with is sure to pack a punch of deliciousness to your dishes! I’m most proud of my will to keep pushing forward during difficult and uncertain times. Being full time with my brand for 2 years now, let me be the one to tell you that it is HARDWORK. There will be sacrifices made, stress and sometimes sad days. There will be times when your financial status may be questionable. But when you’re blessed to be doing what you love and work hard to get great at it, the rewards far outweighs the risks. Perseverance will take you far!

I want the world to know that Royalty Eatery, LLC is the future of all things flavor and we’re excited to add value to your kitchen and lives! I plan to take us global with everything from spices, cookbooks, utensils, kitchen appliances and more!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t get out much for leisure, if I do it’s with my 9yr old son and my husband. We’ll generally hit Main Event for playtime, Kings Island for adventure and thrill, The Banks down on the river for views and a plethora of places to eat and enjoy a good drank!

I’d like to shoutout my son Tyrii, for giving me the push to build a business and legacy to one day, hopefully pass down to him. My husband Tyrone, for encouraging me to take this entrepreneurial leap of faith in the first place, helping me with everything business wise from preparation, delivering and just overall supporting and loving me!
