Meet Jalen Harris | Sports Podcaster & Sports Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jalen Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jalen, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I feel that I chose this career because it fits me in all aspects. I wanted my voice to be heard on current or unique topics in professional, high school, or collegiate sport. I felt my creative career would give me the voice I needed to create my own show and become a major name in sports media or sports creatives.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a sports podcast and I feel what sets it apart is the authenticity and realism it brings you with each episode. I don’t show a lot of bias in my analysis and opinions. I discuss social issues and issues impacting sports off the court. I am most excited about the growth and next steps of my sports podcast and brand. I got to where I am today from competition and repetition. The journey was not easy and I feel for the most part it is just starting. I overcame challenges by thinking of the future of continuing and getting the fruit of my labor. I have learned rewards don’t come easily just because you think that you are working hard or deserve it. You have to stay constantly working and evolving to keep people interested and following. I want the world to know that “The Harris Huddle” is a great upcoming podcast that will continue to grow. Come join the Huddle!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The activities that I would choose are the Ponce City Market, SkyView, Trap Museum, Georgia Aquarium. Centennial Park is one of the places to chill and have a picnic. I would have to take my friends to the mall which would be Cumberland instead of Lenox. Atlantic Station is another interesting shopping area that I would recommend to a friend. I would say I honestly would take them to local food places like Cafe Bourbon Street, Milk, and Honey, Flying Biscuit. Little Five Points is one of the most interesting places to visit and check out the surrounding areas. Atlanta has a lot of lounges and places to generally chill and enjoy the scenery. It is honestly limitless what activities, food places, or hang-out spots you can visit.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say my family for the most part deserves the most recognition. My mother and father both pushed me to go after my dream and bought me the microphone to use my voice. I would also dedicate my shoutout to my brother and father for the constant discussions to give me the confidence to stay strong in my opinions. I would also like to show love to my significant other Tykera for being my rock during the ups and downs of hosting a podcast.
