Hi Jalen, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Overcoming fear and building resilience, Taking risks requires facing fear and uncertainty. By pushing yourself to confront these challenges, you build resilience and develop the ability to adapt to different situations. Over time, this can strengthen your confidence and ability to navigate future risks. Which also helped me, step out of my comfort zone. By embracing new challenges and opportunities, you expose yourself to new experiences, skills, and perspectives. Even if the outcome is not what you expected, the lessons learned from taking risks can be invaluable.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My passion and dedication towards my goals makes me stand out. I’ve learned that when you genuinely care about what you do and put in the effort to excel, it becomes evident to others and sets you apart from those who may lack the same level of commitment. Walking in the New York fashion week runway brings me joy and fulfillment. It is a thrilling experience that allows me to showcase my unique style, confidence, and personality, and I’m very excited about that. But it wasn’t easy, I had to adopt a positive mindset, Instead of dwelling on the difficulties, I focused on the potential solutions and opportunities that lie within the challenge. Which led me to believe in my ability to overcome obstacles and maintain a positive outlook throughout the process. The lessons I’ve learned along the way, would be the value of patience. You have to realize that success takes time and that rushing or expecting immediate results can lead to frustration. By practicing patience, you have to trust the process and enjoy the journey, no matter how challenging it may be. I want to be known for my unique style, confidence, and ability to inspire others to embrace their individuality. By being a fashion model, I also want to use my platform to empower individuals to express themselves through clothing and encourage them to embrace their own personal style.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, we’d visit New Orleans, since It’s not to far away. We would eat brunch at The Ruby Slipper, later that evening , we would eat and have drinks at Nice Guys Nola, which is a great place to hang out. I really enjoyed Loft 18 because it has a multipurpose venue featuring 5 golf simulators & a sports bar with karaoke & American grill fare. Bourbon street would be a must as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The support of my family, friends, and fans has been a constant source of inspiration. Their unwavering dedication and enthusiasm have fueled my passion and drive. Their kind words of encouragement, whether through social media, emails, or in-person interactions, have reminded me of the impact my work has on others. Their unwavering support has given me the confidence to continue pursuing my dreams and has made me realize the importance of using my platform to make a positive difference.
