We had the good fortune of connecting with Jailane Kendale and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jailane, how do you think about risk?
I’ve never viewed risk as chaos — I see it as a deliberate recalibration.
In my life and career, every so-called “risk” has really been a moment where I chose alignment over convenience. I’ve stepped into industries where the odds weren’t in my favor, walked into castings and runways where I didn’t fit the archetype, and pursued creative paths without the safety net most people wait for. None of it felt reckless. It felt intentional.
For me, risk functions as a catalyst. It forces clarity. It reveals what I actually want versus what I’ve simply tolerated. Each leap I’ve taken has expanded my capacity — not just as an artist, but as a person. It’s taught me to trust my judgment, to back my work, and to move even when circumstances aren’t “comfortable.”
In that sense, risk has played a defining role in my trajectory. It has shaped my resilience, sharpened my intuition, and pushed me toward opportunities I wouldn’t have accessed by staying in familiar territory. I don’t chase danger; I chase evolution. And sometimes evolution requires a little audacity. Sustained, intentional discomfort has been my compass. Ironically, that tension is what allows me to feel the most centered.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As an artist, I’ve learned that acting is an act of generosity.
You give pieces of yourself so someone else can feel something honest. I grew up watching actors carry emotions they’d never lived, not by pretending, but by opening themselves fully. That kind of empathy shaped the way I approach my own work.
Professionally, I’ve had to build my career from the inside out — self-training, taking risks, creating my own opportunities, and learning to advocate for myself long before anyone else did. That journey taught me discipline, resilience, and the ability to grow without losing the heart behind my work.
Along the way, I realized you have to lose yourself again and again just to understand who you are. You can’t find something you never lost, and you can’t fix something that isn’t broken. Every role, every reinvention, every version of myself I’ve had to outgrow has taught me something about truth, imagination, and courage.
My journey hasn’t been effortless, but it’s been sincere. I’ve had to rebuild, self-advocate, and choose my craft even when the path wasn’t clear. What keeps me grounded is intention — the desire to make someone feel seen, understood, or moved, even for a moment.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about my brand, it’s this:
My work comes from my heart. From generosity, from empathy, and from the courage to rediscover myself again and again.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First things first. I’m taking them straight to the East side for food. Atlanta isn’t Atlanta without wings. On the East side though. Touchdown, JJs, American Deli. The East side not only has the best food, but does food better than the rest of the A.
After our bellies grow three sizes I’d take them to Atlantic Station. It like a melting pot of activities there; movies, shopping, food, candy shops, you name it. I’ve always loved it because of how quaint and secluded it is. It doesn’t feel overwhelmingly big despite actually being massive.
At some point we’d have to go to the iconic spots like the Coca-Cola factory, the aquarium and the Beltline.
Then lesser known spots like their record/ vinyl & Thrift stores, I mean what’s Atlanta without music & fashion?
Ironically, enough, I think most of Atlanta’s hidden gems are hidden in plain sight. Most people who move here or natives here don’t really go to these spots as much. But if it’s your first time, it wouldn’t be a full Atlanta trip without them.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to extend my shoutout to Stisa Agency, the team that has consistently championed my growth as an artist. Their belief in me has never been passive — it’s been active, intentional, and deeply encouraging. From opportunities that expanded my range to guidance that sharpened my professionalism, they have played a meaningful role in my evolution.
What I appreciate most about Stisa is their attentiveness. They didn’t just sign me; they saw me. They recognized my drive, my ambition, and the kind of career I’m building, and they’ve supported that vision with integrity and enthusiasm. In an industry that can feel overwhelming, having an agency that invests in you as a whole person — not just a portfolio — is invaluable.
I’m grateful for every door they’ve helped open and every step forward they’ve encouraged me to take. Their support has genuinely shaped my journey. Stisa isn’t just an agency, it’s a Family.
