Meet Jaheim Huggins | Influencer and College student

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaheim Huggins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaheim, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Nothing in life comes easy. How you know to not give up or if something is worth it is when you find yourself keep going back and trying to be better at it even when you keep failing or it’s not going as plan, when it brings you happiness and you get a rush of excitement every time you think/do anything associated with it. I don’t believe in giving up but how I know when something is not for me is when it doesn’t bring me any happiness and I’m not excited about it or it doesn’t contribute to my life in no kind of way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m from the beautiful island of Saint Kitts and Nevis which is located in the Caribbean so from since I was a baby my mom would always dress me up in the latest then in elementary school I then started styling my own clothing and taking pics, this then evolved over the years. It started out as fun then in high school I realized I actually love being in-front a camera, I then moved to New York after high school and this where it got very difficult for me. I was trying to combine the audience I had back home to a whole new audience I knew nothing about at the time, I also wanted to be taken more seriously . This is where believing in yourself and doing what you love no matter what comes in, I’m still learning as the days goes by but staying true to myself, believing in myself even if I was the only person, knowing what I really want and love to do, and whenever I put my mind to something, I’ll go beyond measures to make sure it’s executed and this is what I’m most proud of. What I want people to see from my content and what I feel set me apart from others is originality, even if there is a trend going around I would always think of different ways I can put my own touch on it. I love to express myself using my outfits. The lessons that I’ve learned so far is always stay true to yourself that’s what’s going to attract people and your brand will come off more authentic, the last lesson is to be determine in whatever you do, tell yourself I’m going to do this and work your hardest so you can make that thought become reality.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love visiting different museums and art galleries. I also enjoy chilling by the park where you can see the Brooklyn bridge and the city view. My go to place to dine in would be at little Italy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Firstly, I would like to shoutout myself because when nobody believed in me I still did and never gave up, I showed everyone that I can do it and I did it. Secondly, I would like to extend a huge thank you to my family, friends and supporters. The love I receive on a daily from them keeps me motivated and wanting to keep creating content that’ll inspire and contribute to the community.
