We had the good fortune of connecting with Jadé Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jadé, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thoughts on starting my non-profit organization was to create a space for women to grow and inspire one another to reach our highest potential. It’s important to me for women to genuinely root for each other, since the world as a whole has made it difficult to exist without many hardships. Women are so powerful and it’s important that I continue to contribute to uplifting us.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Lead Mental Health Therapist working with child, adolescents and adults dealing with mental health challenges. After graduating with my Masters, I decided to take care of myself more and change my environment. This lead me to the Atlanta area where I worked really hard to mentor, counsel and encourage individuals to commit to their healing process and self-care journey in taking care of their mental health. This journey has not been easy, being a first generation graduate their have been many obstacles and hurdles that I’ve had to overcome with time. Through community, prayer and self-love I pushed through my hardest battles and continued to remind myself that the one thing no one could take from me was my education and knowledge. Ultimately, that is where my strength and tenacity came from and has continued to guard me to where I am now in my life.

I want the world to know that I’m not a mistake and my story and brand is uniquely made. My journey can’t be duplicated and this brand will represent the passion, confidence and love that I always want to identify with.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is my new home, but I have found some great spots to visit while I’ve been here. Pasha, Piedmont park, Sivas, OLG, the select and a few other spots would be my go to if so had a friend visiting the area. No itinerary because any friend of mine would love an adventure with very few planned spots.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God, HerTSU and my mother are my biggest inspiration in starting this organization. Without their support, encouragement and push I would not have the courage to do this. Thank you!
