We had the good fortune of connecting with JadaRe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JadaRe, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
My name is JadaRe AKA Soufside Baby & I am From Atlanta , Ga . As a child I grew up in Riverdale Ga but moved around throughout my childhood in different Metro Atlanta areas . Atlanta is known for being the party city and it’s culture for music . Everywhere you go there is music playing , people lit and turnt up , and just all around creative art . I grew up in the hood so music was apart of everyone’s life . It was a way to either explain our reality or get away from our reality . It is just apart of who I am and I’ve known since I was 4 years old that I wanted to be an artist . I was inspired by artist like Ciara , TLC , Aaliyah , Lil John , Gucci Mane , Ludacris , Future , Travis porter , young joc , Ti , Jeezy and so many more . Ciara was one of my biggest inspirations and hearing her song goodies and watching her perform on BET and award shows made me get up and dance and practice her songs and dance moves over and over . Still til this day I try to catch on to her moves .

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I was in chorus since the 2nd grade to 12th grade . Ive always loved different genres of music because of that and I began writing when I was 16. As I got older I lost touch of the music side and began going to college and working . I would still sing but I never really took writing or singing seriously after HS . During the pandemic I was going through a terrible breakup and needed an outlet . My outlet has always been music and from that point foward I began writing again. During the pandemic I was going through a terrible breakup and needed an outlet . My outlet has always been music and from that point foward I began writing again. I began going to the studio every single week . And writing music daily to a point where my hands would go numb. I knew from that point it was hustle and grind mode . Everything was being surreal .

The journey has honestly been beautiful and FAST . I dropped my first single “Popn” in March 2022 and it has already reached 36k on Spotify and 6.5k+ on YouTube . I never expected my first song to reach past 100 viewers so for me that was overcoming a lot of milestones at once . The most exciting part of being an artist is performing , networking , and changing others lives through your music . I’ve performed at places like New Music Monday , Concert Halls , runway shows , balls /galas and so much more .

However at times the journey can be difficult . You hear quite a few no’s before you start to hear yes. And it takes ALOT of time from your everyday life . It’s like having a second job but it is so worth it in the end . It never feels like a job it feels like home .

Some challenges I’ve had along the way is definitely being patient . I want everything to happen now and I’ve had to realize anything that comes too soon is never appreciated . So I try to be appreciate and grateful for everything that has come to me on this music journey .

Some lessons that I am learning is that everyone can not come on the journey with you . There are a lot of snakes who can be jealous an envious of what I have or whereI am going . Those type of people bring me down and take me back to square one . So I surround myself with business like minded people who have a positive outlook on life and the music industry . Sometimes I have to be selfish with my heart and energy so I can succeed even though I wear my heart on my sleeve .
Another one is being consistent all the time . Whether it’s writing music and releasing or keeping up with my content on social media I wake up everyday and have to be determined to win .

When I create music it is based on my personality at that time or the mood . When I create rap or a hip hop flow it’s all about a turn up or getting lit . I consider myself a hood tomboy so I was never one twerking with the girls I was always in the crowd with the guys throwing my hands up and rapping lyric to lyric . I wanted to created a vibe that had no gender attached . When it comes to the R&B time that’s when I am creating a vibe for the gals to relate to all the shit we go through on a constant basis in relationships , friendships , and the battles within ourselves . What sets me apart from other artist is I know how to m those vibes together create this empowerment because we don’t have to always be sad or depressed to express how we feel. For me , sometimes it’s about motivating and relating to what we feeling on a daily basis .

When the world hears my music I want the to know it is a spitting image of who I am . The raw and real . Every beat that goes with each songs matches exactly who I am and what I want to express/represent to the world . Every song is unique because it comes from real emotions that can be positive or negative . It’s all me .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend came to town they know they came to the right friend to TURN UP !! First we would have to stop downtown and walk around atl . Stop at places like Krog Street Tunnel , Beltline , and Ponce De Leon . Then we would have to stop by Slutty Vegan to get a good burger and fries. By night time we can stop at my favorite hookah bar U-Bar and get some lamb chops , hookah , and pitcher of a Blue MF . If U -Bar is too busy then we would have to come stop by gold room , MSR My Sisters Room, or 1145 club . The night never sleeps in ATL so you gotta stop by a strip club like KOD . And to end the trip have to stop by six flags and experience fright fest , it’s only right .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout-out to my mother first . thank you for always being there and being my #1. Cheerleader . You are the reason I go so hard . Shoutout to Greedy Gutz Production they are an independent label and have been pushing me for the past 2 years . Thank you for making all my dreams become a reality and believing in my craft . I love working with them and creating a new wave together. Shoutout to my family who I call the “super fans” I love y’all dearly . Shoutout to all my supporters .
