We had the good fortune of connecting with Jada Jean and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jada, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always knew I wanted to start my own business, and I believe that it should be something that aligns with what you have a passion for. I have a passion for working out I workout 4-5 days a week. Originally my freshman year of college(FAMU) I started a workout program and called it “Fit & Fine Workouts.” The name came along because I always used the term Fit&Fine to describe my fitness lifestyle. The workout program went very well, I trained about 8-10 girls up into my sophomore year. I had to temporarily suspend the program due to scheduling conflict. I still continued to do some one on one training when I did have free time. Starting Fit & Fine Apparel came along my Junior Year in college (FAMU) I was sitting home over the pandemic and it literally just came to mind “start your own fitness apparel brand.” Of course the first thing I needed was a name & Fit&Fine Apparel just fit perfectly since I was already known for carrying the name. So I started doing my research with vendors, designs, and logos. Once I figured all that out it was time to invest and get the ball rolling!

What should our readers know about your business?
What I believe sets my business apart is the brand name itself. My goal is to make every woman feel comfortable in their skin while also feeling motivated to stay/get in shape. I want every woman no matter their shape or size to feel FIT & FINE! I am most proud of not giving up, managing a business is not easy at all. Especially when it comes to sales, everyone wont always like your products, everyone wont support, and sales wont alway be jumping, but with all of that you must keep going, you must believe, and you will prosper!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I moved to Atlanta in May on 2021, and its so much to do. My favorite thing to do is Brunch. So if a group of my friend girls were in town we would definitely hit up Breakfast @ Barneys or The Real Milk & Honey for Brunch, enjoy some mimosas. After that hit up on of the sports events thats going on that day. (baseball, Basketball, Football) after that hit up a lounge and vibe to some good music. After that I love hosting small events so I would throw a girls/game night at my house!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely, first and foremost I would like to thank God for putting me in the position to create and run my own business, even when I thought it would fail, he continues to guide my steps throughout this whole journey. Also, all the young ladies that allowed me to train them. My parents for believing, supporting, and investing in me and my business. My dad is a business owner himself and he definitely gave me a lot of insight on what routes to take when starting my business. My mom for giving my a boost on investing in my business. My bestfriend, Sarena is my biggest hypeman! She never thinks any of my ideas are bad ideas and she even helps me enhance them. I greatly appreciate her. Last but not least every single person that supported me rather it was a post on social media or a purchase I appreciate each and every person that has represented Fit & Fine Apparel.
