We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacori McDaniel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacori, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Choosing the career as an Actress and Professional Dancer has always been the vision for me. I have always felt my calling is to perform. Ever since I was born, I feel in my spirit that entertaining others is my duty to fulfill while I am here on Earth during this lifetime. Being in front of large crowds excites me from within. Knowing that my talents speak volumes in a way that the reaction is a standing ovation from the crowd is confirmation of what God gifted me to become. There are pictures of me as a toddler with a room full of toys. Out of all the toys, I chose to pick up the microphone set. With an imagination of the ambition to perform at only 3 years old says a lot about who I am destined to become: A Star. Growing up. I would invite friends over to make up choreography in my basement to later perform in front of family friends. My parents would throw big Birthday parties for my siblings and I. I would be the main attraction as I danced in the center. Growing up, my parents made sure I was active in school activities: Chorus Shows, Pageants, Talent Shows, Cheer Competitions, and Musicals. My schools gave me so much recognition for my talents by awarding me with many trophies. I chose to continue my passion for performing by attending Spelman College. Since then, I have been on my continuous journey of Professionally Dancing and Acting in many different settings doing the absolute thing that I enjoy doing!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The aspect that set me apart from others is my energetic expression while performing, the ability to give others their flowers while I am still growing, and my dedication to fulfilling my dreams through my toughest battles. I study different entertainers daily and nightly for inspiration. One of the artists I really study is Beyoncé because she is one of the greatest entertainers of all time. People know me by my benevolent spirit, compassion for my artistry, unique beauty, and strong work ethic. I am most proud of my accomplishments thus far, growth, and strength to maintain confidence with the decision to be brave enough to go for a profession that is an extremely competitive field. I think people normally give up just by the thought of this career choice. The fear of the unknown is a real thing. It does get scary and self-doubt does occur. I constantly have to remind myself to block out the negative thoughts and that I am capable of achieving.
With patience, perseverance, persistence, and prayers I have managed to get to where I am today. I have been in several Television Shows/Films, danced in music videos and live performances with the help of Hollaback Records Entertainment. I have also expanded my brand through all social media platforms to showcase my skills (including my YouTube Channel: Cori Time). I have also joined the KiKi Kastings Community to help further my success with the help of my mentor KiKi Ely.
I would want the world to know that I am an actress, dancer, and entrepreneur. I simply specialize in entertaining people by making appearances on television and movie screens, and stages. I obtain special skills in dance genres such as Hip-Hop, Heels, Jazz, Contemporary, and many Ballroom dance styles. Acting-wise, my skills range from both on-camera and on stage settings. Behind the scenes, I am an incredible Director. Outside of the Entertainment Industry, I am an entrepreneur with multiple streams of income. I own a successful Trucking Company called Journei V Logistics, LLC. The name “Journei” comes from my youngest sister’s name, and the Roman numeral “V” comes from there being 5 girls. I plan to own several more businesses as my journey with entrepreneurship grows over the years.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Atlanta, I would take them to all the great brunch spots: Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles, The Real Milk and Honey, Breakfast at Barney’s, Toast on Lenox, The Breakfast Boys, BQE, and GoCha’s Breakfast Bar. For fun, depending on the season, I would take them to some of Atlanta’s best hangout spots: Colony Square in Midtown, Lenox Mall, Piedmont Park, Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Main Event, Puttshack, Top Golf, Skyline Park, and Atlantic Station, Edgewood, Moreland Avenue, Six Flags, and Whitewater Water Park. For nightlife fun, I would take them to some of Atlanta’s hottest clubs/bars: Eleven45, Revel, Harolds Chicken & Ice Bar, Suite Food Lounge, Gold Room, and Magic City.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shout out to my loving parents Marc McDaniel and Chaka Waide. I could not have made it this far into living my dream without them. My parents gave me the freedom to explore my interests by investing in many different sports, and I will always appreciate them for that. Some parents can’t afford to place their children in sports or after school activities. My parents were always very supportive of me. They both made sure they were there at every game and every show. Even now, this is not an easy career path to choose and they still are there cheering me on when I feel like giving up.
