We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaclyne Roe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaclyne, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I am a self-proclaimed workaholic. But, I say that because I actually love my work. I find it fulfilling in so many ways. I once thought I had to carry the weight of my colleagues. It led to extremely long work hours, project obsession, and an unhealthy relationship with my family. Work ethic was always strong in my parents. So, they didn’t think much about me working constantly. I only started to realize the imbalance as I became a partner and mother. I felt the weight shift in my life, and finally become more balanced. It’s still something I have to be conscience of. Family first- but it’s hard because I carry empathy for so many people. I also focus energy on advocating for my colleagues or employees. It reminds me of how much it means to have someone support you personally and professionally. I wouldn’t trade my experience, which has taught me that your personal life can be a tough job too. You have to put in the work.

What should our readers know about your business?
Over the last decade, I have soul searched and internet searched to answer the age-old questions: who am I, how do I work, and how do I get better? I may not have totally figured it out, but I’ve realized a few key things that lead me to start my consulting firm, ROE HALO Consulting. I started in the spa and wellness industry over twenty years ago. I fell into it and never wanted to get out of it. It’s the perfect place for me as a virgo and INFJ personality. I’m able to be creative, nurturing, and as a business manager I could advocate for my clients and team. After so much time in the industry, I started working with other business owners who had the heart or the ideas, but just didn’t have all the tools to push their business forward. I then began developing new wellness brands and refining existing ones. Corporate, franchise, or individually owned. Doesn’t matter as long as the heart is in the right place. It matters to me to be a part of someone’s journey. Especially someone who’s journey is to care for the world. To me, no job could be better than this.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love a good rooftop and I’m obsessed with great food. I am definitely the one to plan all the stops, so this is easy for me. I’d really like to plan around the person I’m entertaining, but I can tell you my favorite stops! I’d have a pool day at home, or at a local hotel like Moxy or Epicurean. Must be outdoors to soak up the sunshine. And some quality poolside f&b is the way to my heart. You can easily spend an entire day at Ponce City Market and the Skyline Park. You can also do the same at the Interlock. Food, games, shopping…doesn’t get much better than that. Top favorite restaurants would be Kinjo Room, Marcel, and the Optimist. Clearly I’m a West Midtown girl. My favorite thing to do is enjoy a cocktail on a fabulous rooftop. Atlanta is filling up with beautiful skyline views. Oku and Drawbar have great unobstructed Midtown views. To sum it up, I just need food and a little fresh air to be happy.Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband has truly been a guiding light over the last decade. He has pushed me, grounded me, and lifted me up all at the same time. Professionally, I have been so lucky to work with many amazing people. Whether they were my bosses (Annette, Margaret, Lisa) or colleagues (Keisha, Natalie, Ronney, Jennifer), I have watched them evolve with me and have such beautiful friendships from it. My parents of course have always believed in me. They have been patient, waiting in the shadows, and have celebrated me blossoming into a full blown entrepreneur.
