We had the good fortune of connecting with Jack Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jack, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a teenager, I wanted to create Comic Books and Video Games as a career. Life had different plans for me early in my career as a Software Engineer. After some time I found that my career wasn’t fulfilling. So I decided it was time to start producing a comic book I had been writing for a decade. That was in 2020. I started Clash Digital Publishing that year and start producing our comic book, Terminus Veil.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Currently, I’m writing Terminus Veil, an action comic book series about a private security team that’s caught in the middle of a string of violent robberies. I’ve been writing it for a few years now and I’ve learned in that time to be patient in planning and outlining the story. I’ve learned that comic book readers expect consistency and that I need to be extra meticulous with the details.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first place I would take them is the ethiopian restaurant, Desta. I love their tibs and their kitfo slices. Their service is top notch. We’d probably visit Wish in Little 5 Points and go get some sneakers. We definitely hang out at My Parents Basement in Avondale Estates and have some late night drinks at Thinking Man’s Tavern. One other restaurant we would have to visit is Shoya Izakaya. They have some large menu and just about everything is delicious. I would have to order the Duck Skewers and Crab Nigiri.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to my wife. She’s been more that supportive of Terminus Veil. She’s been vital in the graphic design, marketing, and business operations. We’ve also got a future project coming up in Fall 2024 where she will be a part of the creative process for the characters and story.
