We had the good fortune of connecting with Izzy Baker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Izzy, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I feel like my podcast helps the community in a few ways. First and foremost, my podcast makes uncomfortable conversations easy to digest by adding the comedy style of satire. In some cases, there are incidents where laughter is present in order to make the discussion fun. The conversations and topics are also relatable for those who are classified as millennials (17-35). Secondly, the podcast is mental health based and gives insight on the other aspect of mental health, which is how we act, feel, & think. Although I am not nor trying to be a licensed professional, I still have dealt with my own mental health struggles. I also have seen two different therapists, and have done a load of research. MY goal is NOT to diagnose or fix anyone, but to open the door to the conversations that we as millennials go through, through an angle of understanding. The main goal is to be open to different perspectives and ways of thinking that most people may not agree with. Agreeing to disagree is very hard for this generation it seems. Finally, this podcast helps the world, because it gives a voice to so many people. This is through the guests on the show as well as the audience who can relate to the topics, but don’t know how to vocalize how they feel. It is also a good podcast for those who feel as though no one gets the way they think.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My podcast is set apart because there isn’t a podcast like it. Yes, there are mental health podcast. Yes, there are comedy podcast, and yes there are a few that blend the two, but there isn’t one like mine. From the way I do my titles, inspirations for each episode, my #QTNA, Story Time, the clips of songs and other youtube clips featured throughout the episode and the way I conduct my interviews that blend with a healthy discussion about the episode’s topic, There isn’t one that blends the two styles together effortlessly, or who feature guests who range all over. This is what I’m most proud of. My lists of guests consists of childhood friends, college friends, the young, the old, current athletes, mental health practitioner , rappers, other podcasters, comedians, life coaches, reality stars, make up artists, and the lists goes on. I feel that literally everyone has something to say. It was not easy getting where I am now professionally. I got here with consistency , which is easy to do when you love what you do. You overcome challenges when you choose something that is not only a God given purpose, but also something you enjoy. I learned the same cliche saying “everyone can’t go”. I also learned about myself through these episodes and that transparency is the best way to be. I want the world to know about my brand that I will keep going and that my story is something unlike most. It is one that showcases the beauty for ashes.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to literally everyone who believed in my podcast from the jump, later joined the wave, or still don’t believe in what I’m doing. They have all helped me in some way, shape, or form.
