Hi Iyneesa, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factors behind my success are my vision, my determination and my persistence. Those 3 factors have allowed me to reach heights I never thought my business can reach. I went from wishing things can flourish to actually being in the moments I’ve prayed for. With 4 years in the game, I’ve watched my business transform in so many ways. I’ve fallen in love with the process and acknowledged that this is just the beginning.

What should our readers know about your business?
Minkitup LLC was established in March of 2018. We are a black-owned cosmetic line with the vision of bringing women together. By helping woman boost their confidence & creating a sisterhood. We bring a nostalgic vibe with our products, which is like no other. Our quality is unmatched and best of all we are affordable ! We are most excited about the expansion of the brand. We are aiming to become a one stop shop where, woman can take the stress and ease out of becoming the confident individual they are truly meant to be. Working on my mental health as an individual has helped me become so much more progressive when it comes to my business. It was not easy at all being that my brand is owned and operated by just me, I wear many hats when it comes to the daily functions of business. It was important for me to learn how to be consistent and present as the confident woman I am to run my business. Therapy has helped me deal with any past traumas and really get to know the why behind my mental health. Along the way I’ve learned that it is okay to not see any progress. Failure is the only way to succeed and it’s actually a good sign that you’re heading in the right direction. Learn to be your biggest supporter because you hold the vision! Not everybody is going to be with you along the way and that’s okay , Its important to surround yourself around like minded individuals. I want the world to know that it’s okay to re-write your story ! You don’t have to be what society says is okay. Be you Be original Be yourself. My story isn’t all glitter and gold. For many years I’ve dealt with the burden of my sexual assault & It wasn’t until I moved from my hometown Brooklyn , NY to Atlanta , GA that I saw the opportunity to rewrite my story. Minkitup was created as a safe space for me to turn my pain into passion. From a young adult I have dealt with low self esteem, depression, and anxiety. I felt like I was damaged because of what I’ve been through and for many years I’ve blamed myself. But a part of me always had hope. To be better , to be confident , to teach , learn and inspire other woman who may have dealt with the same issues I’ve faced. I want the world to know that Minkitup is more than just a cosmetic line . It is a brand that will help you flourish into your highest self.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite place to visit of all times is Little 5 points. It reminds me so much of back home and the pizza shop there is the closest I can get to a NY slice . Cru lounge on Peters street is where I like to get drinks , food , hookah or when I just want to catch a vibe . I have met some of the best people when visiting the skyline park. It’s best to visit at night because the skyline is so pretty , they also have really great drinks food and I love the vibes. The trap museum , the aquarium and piedmont park are also some of my favorite places to visit. Especially when the weather is nice out !

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to all my family & friends that have helped contribute towards my success. I come from a place where being successful seems like a dream but, each day I thank God for allowing me to overcome so many obstacles with the path I’ve chosen. I also would like to give a shoutout to my younger self for always being so hungry and eager for success. The drive to be better , to beat the odds & to live the life I truly desire to have are also the reasons why success will never just be a dream , but my reality.
