Meet I’sis Eikner: Owner of p.h. Apparel, Dance Teacher, Actress, Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with I’sis Eikner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi I’sis, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My first thought process behind starting this business was to create a brand and legacy for my son to have. Secondly , I took into consideration the new wave of style and culture which led me to a modern style of clothing for the precious little ones. Lastly, I knew balance was a topic that I would definitely need to dig deeper into with motherhood approaching. What better way to encourage balance I thought ? Let’s make it a brand.

What should our readers know about your business?
Starting this business was not easy. The hardest part was adjusting my poor habits of procrastination and self doubt. One of the lessons I’ve learned in such a short time is follow through, organization, and confidence. Starting a business and taking care of an infant can be quite a challenge but with prayer and prioritizing I strive to make each day count. I want the world to know that this brand is all about the balance baby.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The highlights of this city would have to be the rich historical sites such as the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park, the amazing Tyler Perry Studios, delicious Slutty Vegan, and any outdoor events.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my business consultant, Frenchell Jackson for pushing my vision when it was just a thought, Isaac Howard who assisted me in the beginning stages, and Chiquita Rhodes for assisting with manufacturing and marketing. To my family and friends who helped me push this vision and will continue to help I thank you.
