We had the good fortune of connecting with Isha Faye and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isha, what principle do you value most?
The values and principles that matters most to me are character , dignity , honesty , and integrity . These are very important to me because my father instilled these characteristics within me since I was a child . Growing up I found that these characteristics are very important because it determines how a person I believe . It determines how they act, how they carry themselves , and also how they treat others .

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Model , writer , creative , and now a certified Doula. I have been modeling for over six years now . It definitely was not easy . I heard a lot of No’s. While modeling I was also in school in Baltimore so during the weekends I would travel to NY , NJ , Philly etc and then make it back before school on Monday. Sometimes that would be Monday morning and head straight to class. I got to where I am today professionally because of that .. taking those risk , not quitting when it became very hard , and using all of my No’s as fuel to keep going. I overcame challenges by not giving up no matter what , no matter how hard it was . I took mental breaks , I took time for myself to build myself back up but I KEPT GOING. The lessons I’ve learned along the way was of course to never give up . See the vision and go for it and don’t stop until you reach your goal. Lessons I’ve learned is that “Representation Matters” I could be the one to help change what the industry looks like . I want the world to know that Representation DOES Matter !! It is important to see people who look like you in magazines , TV , and etc . It is important to see people who look like you with the same hair texture , the same skin color , the same height etc. All of it is pretty all of it is beautiful. I want people to know that! I want them to see themselves in me . To see that you don’t have to change yourself to fit in. That you could 100% be yourself and people will catch on eventually and if they don’t that’s okay. Keep going!! Love yourself and be who you are !! That is my story overcoming adversity , being told no , not getting bookings because I wasn’t what they were looking for . That’s okay it’s the industry you never know what they looking for but if it’s your dream !!! Keep going !!!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would love to take them to the city of course . I love little five points . I love culture , I love seeing a lot of people that look like me in different ways , i love seeing art so definitely little five points . I love nature so I’ll definitely take them to a trip to Stone Mountain , maybe go on a hike , go to Roswell mills for the beautiful waterfall. This being during the week let’s say it’s Wednesday I’ll take them to the botanical garden , we’ll go see a couple of museums . Thursday we’ll start partying . Going to the best black own restaurants (like fin and feathers etc) , maybe to Our Bar for a nice vibe . Friday throughout the day enjoy the nice weather by doing outdoor activities . Friday night go out of course maybe to a nice hookah Lougue . Saturday rest up ! Very essential and then at night go out to maybe a regggae party (peacock or such) and of course Sunday end it with brunch !! Go to a nice brunch spot and enjoy the afternoon (maybe Liliy’’s).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The people that I would love to shout-out are my family that continued to push me and believed in me even when others didn’t . The ones who seen my vision and knew that I could accomplish my dreams and desires . Lastly , Aubrie Ebony , I would love to shout her out and the model community for holding me accountable , not letting me give up , and holding space for me .
