We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabella Luna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isabella, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
As a child, I was obsessed with everything fabulous and beautiful, whether it was fashion, beauty, or art. I attended painting camps in elementary school, dabbled in photography and videography in college, and never stopped playing dress-up. In my 9-5 career as a PR Account Executive, I’ve learned a lot about social media strategy and influencer marketing. Content creation was the perfect and most natural outlet to express all of my interests and experiences.

I feel compelled to take everyday moments of my life and make them into beautiful events worth capturing. It allows me to blend my love for aesthetics with storytelling.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The number of highly-researched lists in my notes app would probably scare some people. Because of this, I have always been the person that friends would come to for restaurant recommendations or style advice. What I do as a content creator is what I have always done, but now it reaches even more people.

I love sharing my life through lifestyle vlogs, Atlanta things-to-do, travel, beauty, and fashion content. Unlike what a lot of the industry will tell you, I don’t think that you need to stick to one niche. I want people to become invested in my life and who I am as a person — and that person has many different interests and passions.

Becoming a content creator is fundamentally risky. You are allowing people to see into your life and hoping that it is well received (sometimes it isn’t!). There are moments when I’ve felt dumb or cringe, but then I remember if I didn’t put myself out there, I would be the one shutting down my own success.

Fast forward to today. I have grown my accounts to 16,000+ followers across all social media platforms and had the opportunity to collaborate with over 50 local and national brands such as Abercrombie and Fitch, SKIMS, Sephora, YSL Beauty, Valentino Beauty, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Lenox Mall, Colony Square, and more.

Although people often assume I am a full-time influencer, I also have a more traditional career as a Public Relations Account Executive for a major Atlanta integrated PR and marketing firm. In addition to the stability it affords me, I believe it makes my content more authentic. I am not dependent on brand deals or affiliate partnerships as my income, so I can choose to only endorse and amplify brands that I truly believe in.

I am really proud of the work I’ve been doing to grow more in the fashion space and can’t wait to see where that takes me. I have some exciting things in the works so stay tuned!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For the perfect start to your day, you must try Le Bon Nosh. Order the almond croissant with a salted honey latte, and thank me later. The restaurant’s atmosphere feels like an upscale European cafe, and I am extremely partial to anywhere with a champagne bar.

I love trying new dinner spots, but time after time I return to Grana. Between the meatball flight (yes, I said meatball flight) and the build-your-own cannoli, you can’t have a bad meal there.

Atlanta is such a unique city with an amazing drag scene, so I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Lips Atlanta. Go see the girls, make sure you bring money to tip, and get ready for a show.

Technically this isn’t ITP, but it’s worth taking the short drive to Duluth to check out the unique restaurants and stores. My personal favorites are Teso Life, a Japanese department store that sells literally everything, and Fluffy Fluffy, a soufflé pancake and dessert cafe.

My family has a tradition of seeing the holiday lights at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens every year and it never gets old. We love to point out the spot where my parents got engaged and make them re-enact it.

El Malo and Palo Santo are the perfect girls-night-out spots. You’ve probably seen Palo Santo on Instagram without even realizing it, because of its iconic aura light and gorgeous rooftop. El Malo is perfect for dancing and has my favorite cocktail in the city, the HBG Ube Martini.

Honorable mentions: Little Sparrow, The Garden Room, Ruby Chows, Iberian Pig, Jojo’s Beloved, St. Julep, Buckhead Village, The High Museum, Atlanta United Games.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am a sap, so I love this question. Thank you to every single one of my friends and family that I have asked to take “just one more” picture or video of me. You have a lot of patience and I owe so much to you! Shoutout to Zoey, Greta, Arden, Pariia, Courtney, Jess, Lisa, and all the other supportive, beautiful women in my life.

Specifically, I would like to dedicate this interview to my mom, Christina. We talk on the phone every day, and she is the first person I tell whenever I sign a new collaboration. She knew she had a loud, extroverted daughter and never once tried to dim my light.

Lastly, I have to thank the Atlanta community and anyone who has ever followed, commented, or liked my posts. It means everything to me!
