We had the good fortune of connecting with Iniki Bryan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Iniki, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
So many great questions, however I’ll take a stab at this one.

Everyone measures success differently. For me, the only factor behind my creativity & success is GOD. He has done amazing things in my life. I’ve seen His hand over & over again, countless wonders & miracles performed on my behalf. Whenever I feel defeated, the Holy Spirit is my counsel, & reminds me of the times when leaning on my own understanding brought me to ruin. As long as I keep my focus on the Lord, I know & wholeheartedly believe that He will exalt me in His perfect timing. My success comes from the Lord, my strength comes from the Lord, my creativity & gifts come from Him.. So it is the Lord that shall get all of the credit & glory. I would not have been where I am today, if it wasn’t for his anointing & favor over my life & my business.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing I am most proud of is my resilience. Despite my hardships (& I have had many trials & trying times)–through Christ who strengthens me, I have always been able to stand firm in my knowing that I AM somebody & I WILL accomplish what it is that I’ve set my mind to. I believe I got to where I am today, by staying in daily close/personal relationship w/ God. Staying close to Him has protected me, similar to that of Psalms 91. Everyday is a challenge for me, for I live IN the world, but I am NOT of it. I pick up my cross daily to walk w/ him. I lose myself, but I am found through Jesus Christ. It is He alone who has helped guide me through those dark days/nights & valleys.
The number one lesson that I have learned is that–it WAS & IS needed. My pain was needed, my trauma was needed, my struggle was needed, my heartache was needed; so that I may be living proof to whomever that needs encouragement. God is NOT dead. I’ve lost everything I’ve ever loved, but I’m STILL HERE. He hears, sees & knows all. No matter the circumstances, He has a plan to prosper me & His people. A promise that was made to those that love Him. He is not a man where he should lie, & His word will never return back to Him void. All of my tribulations are meant for me to feel, grow, learn & teach the next person that is going through life.
The only thing I want the world to know is the goodness of the Lord & all of what He has done in my life. He is a healer, a teacher, a lover, a friend, a companion, He IS. & He will always Be.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Unfortunately, I don’t have an exact place that I can pinpoint. I am still being integrated back into society, as I have been homeless & closed off for so long. I’m starting from scratch…again. However, this is a day & age of technology, whereas, finding a cool place to grab a bite to eat or drink wouldn’t be too hard to find. Though, I fancy the idea of lounges & rooftops, museums & parks. As long as there are good vibes & something for me to stuff my face w/ I’ll find it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God. God only deserves the credit. When I’ve spent months & years in my wilderness season, battling homelessness, domestic violence, losing custody of my children, God alone has kept me in His folds. He has comforted me when I was in despair. When my heart was torn to shreds, He healed me. When my mind was under attack, He renew my mind. I would be a fool to give a slither of credit to anyone else. Now, I know that may sound harsh, but it’s the truth. No one was there for me when I was living in my car for YEARS, I was a laughing stock. Mocked & made fun of, talked about & ridiculed, judged & cursed. I have had some help along the way, however my help comes from the Lord, & I recognize His positioning in my life. Noone shall ever come before Him, which is why I give Him all of the praise & glory.
