We had the good fortune of connecting with Imran Ahmed and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Imran, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
I think the most important value to me is dedication, commitment coupled with perseverance. You have to be very focused and patient in order to achieve anything in life, it never is an overnight success, it takes a lot of hard work, discipline and dedication in anything you want to achieve.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Definitely it’s the music and all the collaborations and live concerts that keeps me busy, I would like to share my story with my readers on how it all started off.I picked up the guitar at the age of 15 it was a cheap acoustic guitar with only 5 strings which I borrowed from a friend with the intention of never giving it back. I had no idea that guitar had 6 strings since I’m  entirely a self-taught guitarist and learned the instrument through trial and error. In the early days I had no idea how to go about until one of my friends in my neighbor introduced me to rock music. My first encounter with a real rock band was Megadeth and in particularthe song “Set The World A Fire” from the album “So Far So Good So What?” which completely changed my life. From then onwards I wanted to become a rock guitarist, my hunger for learning the instrument grew further and one fine day I went to the local book store where I found some used guitar magazines lying on the shelf. That was the turning point of my life and the exposure of the world of rock and roll took me by storm. Through the guitar magazines I educate himself about the instruments, music theory and amplification. However, I was too broke to buy any of these instruments, so I decided to take up tuitions in order to gain money to buy instruments. My first electric guitar was a copy of Les Paul and I got very serious by the time I was 17. I would lock himself for hours and hours just to practice my instrument, and within couple of years I was ready to rock the world.

I’m a guitarist, composer, song writer, I formed Project X and got tremendous amount of airplay from different Radio stations throughout the world. I’m a Nominated artist of Independent American Music Awards aka The Josie Music Awards 2016, 2017, 2018 and Winner of 2017 The Josie Music Awards held at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee USA in the category of “World Musician of the year” in the year 2017. In 2019 I won the ISSA Awards (International Singer Songwriters Association) Held on August 3rd 2019 at Georgia Atlanta USA, in Male Rising Star Category and the only Pakistani musician to reach that status, I  was an official judge of 2020 ISSA Awards (International Singers Songwriters Association) and also an official judge for. Most recently, in 2023, I was awarded an accolade as the Best Breakthrough Artist by (International Singers Songwriters Associations ) ISSA in Georgia Atlanta, solidifying my status as a rising star. My Song ‘Believe in you-Believe in me’ co-written by US musician Ricky Davis was selected by a mini-series called “Hunting Jessica” directed by Lisa Lee Martin, Moreover, I have released an album entitled “Daydreaming” with American artist Brauninger McDaniel which was appreciated by both critics and fans all over the world.

My music is available on all internet platforms, I have worked with so many diverse genre of artists from rock to blues to Americana to eastern classical, that made me learn and helped me improve as a musician and guitarist.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I guess the best place for me would be a club or venue where they play rock music, that would be my ideal place to take my friends to.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
