We had the good fortune of connecting with Imani Vanzap and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Imani, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
There is great importance in claiming your own voice and path in the world. One of the best ways to do that is in starting our own business or by social media standards, your own platform. I found the ownership of this voice to be incredibly helpful in how people see the world.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have always been in the arts. I have a keen understanding that creativity powers the world and the way we see it. In many societies, whenever legislative and societal change and/or reconditioning was desired, they would normally focus on liberating or silencing artists first. To reach people on a level where they can feel, has. direct correlation to the way that they think. Although the mind should ultimately guid the heart’s decisions, the inverse has great weight whereas a good heart can help develop a good mind. With this thought, I produce works that make you feel something first and by design make you think about what you felt. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I reside in Atlanta, GA. With a current restrictive pandemic that has the world in its grip, finding fun places is indeed somewhat of a challenge. With that in mind, in Georgia there are stores and occasionally public establishment in the Metro and Little Five Points area that are conducive to mask and social distancing mandates. That would be where I would take newcomers.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would truly like to thank Chasing Reality. This is the series that I am a part of that gave me the platform to officially get my voice heard by the world. Self Care and Development are core fundamentals for all of my art. The platforms and exposure I have now help me to maximize this passion with the world.
