We had the good fortune of connecting with Imani Brooks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Imani, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
One of the most important decisions I made that contributed to the success of Royal Bliss Med Spa was choosing to focus on a holistic approach to wellness. Instead of simply offering aesthetic services, we incorporated mental and physical wellness into our business model, creating a space that promotes not only external beauty but internal healing. By offering services such as IV therapy, weight loss programs, and stress-relief treatments alongside traditional med spa services, we’ve been able to differentiate ourselves and attract a clientele that values comprehensive self-care. This decision helped us build deeper relationships with clients and create a loyal customer base.

What should our readers know about your business?
At Royal Bliss Med Spa, we believe that true beauty starts from within. What sets us apart is our holistic approach to wellness—we don’t just focus on aesthetic treatments, we integrate health, wellness, and self-care into everything we do. We offer services like IV therapy, weight loss programs, facials, body contouring, and injectable treatments like Botox and fillers. But what truly makes us unique is our commitment to helping clients feel as good on the inside as they look on the outside.

Getting to where we are today was definitely not easy. When I first started, I was balancing a full-time job while self-funding the business. Marketing to the right clientele and learning how to run a business were huge challenges. It took a lot of perseverance, late nights, and trial and error. But the key to overcoming these challenges was surrounding myself with the right support system, including mentors, family, and my incredible team. They helped me stay focused on our vision and mission even when things got tough.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that you have to stay true to your core values. For us, that means prioritizing wellness in every aspect of what we do and ensuring that each client who walks through our doors feels cared for, not just cosmetically but holistically.

I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, especially in creating a community of clients who trust us with their wellness and self-care journeys. I’m also excited about where we’re going—we’re continuously growing and expanding our offerings to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

What I want the world to know about Royal Bliss Med Spa is that we are more than just a med spa. We are a place where self-love, wellness, and beauty come together. Our story is about helping people not only look their best but feel their best—mind, body, and soul.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! There are so many people and groups who have played a role in the journey of Royal Bliss Med Spa. First and foremost, I’d like to give a huge shoutout to my family,—their unwavering support and encouragement have been my foundation. My husband, Lanre, and my daughter, Sydney, have stood by me through the highs and lows of building this business, and I couldn’t have done it without their love and patience. My sis, Eboni is one of my biggest advocates and shares my vision and business in every space she finds herself in.

I also want to recognize the incredible team at Royal Bliss Med Spa. Their dedication, hard work, and belief in our mission to combine beauty and wellness have been essential to our success. Our clients trust us because of their expertise and care.

Lastly, I’d like to thank my mentors and peers in the wellness and med spa community, particularly the SAP Pro Bono for Economic Equity program that helped me strategize, make critical business connections, and secure events that really increased our visibility. Their guidance and insight helped take Royal Bliss to the next level. This journey has been a team effort, and I’m beyond grateful for all the support I’ve received along the way!
