We had the good fortune of connecting with Ieshia Brown Lumpkin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ieshia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My one thought behind starting my business, was to create additional resources for Curvaceous Women that do not have that many options for fashionable clothes and accessories. My intentions are to be that brand for Sophisticated Curvaceous Women to also OWN the runway and have great options to choose from as well.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most proud that I envisioned myself opening a Boutique that catered to curvaceous women. This was not an easy journey to begin, I am beyond thankful that we were able to open our doors during the Pandemic, and have been able to maintain throughtout the economic struggles. There are not many options for plus size women and I wanted to provide trendy selections. I have learned throughout this Journey that if there is something you want to do to JUST DO IT. There will be trials and errors but you can learn from them. You have to first believe in yourself. I am a degree certified personal stylist that also provide one on one consultations while shopping at DeJour Couture Boutique as well as conduct private in home closet hauls at customer and executive business levels.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are several options, I am a Brunch Lover, I would first take them to the Garden Room which is one of my favorite places to go. We would then go on a shopping spree to Atlantic Station where they have some very nice places to shop.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would mostly like to dedicate this ShoutOut to my family, my husband Alton, my children DeMiere & JaBorian Lumpkin and my grandson Mason has been a significant push to my career. They are the reason I have progressed as far as I have. Lastly I can’t forget my Parents and Siblings.
