We had the good fortune of connecting with Ida @ToEveryMom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ida, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
The habit of “loving myself well” and the habit of “forgiving and affirming myself daily”

Every other habit I am building will not and do not matter if these two habits are not at the forefront. My dreams and goals start in me, the business building activities are carried out by me (my team as well, but they are also led by me). So, if I am not taking care of me, loving me, and affirming me, my business, my team, and my family, are not able to experience the best of me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a content creator on Social Media. You can find my work on Tiktok, Instagram, and Youtube.

In 2019, I was working a 9-5, a single mother with a big dream. My dream was to entertain the world with my talents and creativity. I wanted to write books, I wanted to be a public speaker, and I wanted to create videos that would entertain and comfort. But, that seemed impossible for me. I was approaching 40. Even one of the trainers at a previous job, smirked at my desire to be a Public Speaker after I announced it during a team building exercise.

However, a famous podcaster kept saying it wasn’t too late. He said if anyone wanted to build a business, they should build an audience, and Tiktok was the place to do that. So, I reluctantly hopped on. I was nervous, and did not know what I was doing, but I believed him and kept creating.

I spent hours learning how to “do Tiktok”. I had a background in Marketing and entertaining people, but I decided to take time and immerse myself in the culture of short-form video. Within 1 year on the app, I grew my community to over 150K on Tiktok.

It wasn’t easy, but I wanted to bring “ease” into it. I asked myself “how much time and effort are you willing to give, while still maintaining your job, your family time, and taking care of yourself”. The answer was an hour. So, I gave an hour to it every day. With that hour, I accomplished what I and that trainer at my previous job thought was impossible.

What I have learned is that any person can dream at any age, from any background, and with any level of education or expertise. I have also learned to trust myself, I can do amazing things. We now have an incredible community of almost 300K across Tiktok and Instagram, and a thriving business built on training others, writing children’s books, and you guessed it, Public Speaking, and this is only the beginning, more amazing things are on the horizon.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friends were visiting Atlanta, there are so many places I’d love to take them. I love a few spots in the city and also spots further north of Atlanta. Here are a few…

I am a museum girl, so I would definitely take them to Fernbank and World of Coca-Cola. I love natural history and Fernbank is a special place for children to play and get up close and personal with a Dinosaur.

One of my favorite places to eat is Bacchanalia, mmm four courses of WOW! I love this restaurant.

And north of the city is an amazing place for a family outing called Mercier Orchards. With spectacular views and apple fritter donuts, this is the best place for a Fall outdoor activity.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Mom. This incredible woman grew up in Atlanta during the sixties. The challenges she faced, although they definitely impacted her, did not destroy her spirit.

She has always been my biggest supporter. She believed in me, when I couldn’t. I am so blessed to know her and even more so to be her daughter.
