We had the good fortune of connecting with Hubert Tate and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hubert, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Real estate is definitely an industry where the transaction involves the successful transfer of land/property. However, I didn’t realize how emotional this process becomes for my clients. For instance, I once had a client who bought a home as a single woman. Ten years later when she went to sell the home, she realized that she is now a wife and mother. Once she looked back over that time, she became very emotional at how life evolves and how for many people, life’s biggest moments happen inside a home. Nonetheless, on the other hand, some folks harbor feelings of hatred toward their home, especially after messy divorces. Either way, I have to serve as an unofficial counselor through those difficult moments. Real estate school definitely did not prepare me for that part of the business. I am thankful that I am very patient and compassionate for my clients during those times.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I specialize in folks needing to sell their current home and buy a new one. Overseeing this type of transaction requires heavy attention to detail, and I am proud to say that I do it well. My clients come back to me over and over again, which is proof that my services are top notch. For instance, for one family, I’ve done four transactions with them over the past three years. I think anyone who continues using a business’s services so much is a clear sign that the business is doing something right. I want the world to know that everyone deserves the right to own a home–regardless of price point. When my clients choose to #HireHubert, they know that they are getting white glove service from day one.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love my Buckhead neighborhood a lot, so I probably wouldn’t venture too far from here. I would probably take friends for food and shopping in Buckhead Village, and then hop in an uber to take a stroll through Piedmont Park. It is really gorgeous. From there, perhaps hope on the Beltline to explore the natural beauties of this great city. Hopefully, the Falcons or Hawks are in play, so we can grab a little bit of live sports action.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow! So many people to list here, especially my close family and friends. However, I would also say that my therapist was/is a huge factor in my development as a realtor. Real estate is a tough business, as most of us are 100-percent commission based and new entrepreneurs. That is really scary for a lot of folks, including myself. I started working with my therapist in 2016 and she has been with me along this journey since I started in real estate in 2017. Perhaps the most important mindset shift she helped me conquer includes overcoming my fear of failure. Nobody wants to fail, but she help me understand that failure is part of the process and we learn from our failures. Failure is never an end point, but part of the larger story of success. Have I failed in certain areas of real estate? Yep. Do my wins outweigh my failures. Yes-for sure!
