We had the good fortune of connecting with Holly Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Holly, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Never stop showing up. Do something towards/for your business everyday. Whether it’s going into the community building those longtime connections or continuous education towards your craft..

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a wedding and family photographer throughout the Atlanta area. What sets me apart is style, I incorporate film when photographing. It gives me the time to reflect and be intentional when pressing the shutter.
One of the reason I use film is to get that dreamy look but still have depth plus having the ability to play with light.

Every session or wedding I’m apart of excites me. To witness people’s most intimate or vulnerable moments is truly humbling and at the same time putting them at ease.

I started my photography journey in 2020 after the birth of my son. It was something I’ve always thought of doing but never had the courage to do. Taking that leap of faith in yourself and wildly believing you can make this work is nerve wracking. That’s the biggest obstacle to overcome. Once you master that hurdle you can accomplish anything.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Without a doubt taking them to piedmont park- it’s huge! Plus getting the skyline of downtown Atlanta. What’s not to love?! lol

From there we’ll probably head somewhere more quiet or less crowded. I love the little town of Senoia. (Next to Peachtree city) and do lunch at Bistro Hilary. I am huge fan of their burger and Caesar salad. (Homemade and locally sourced food)

After lunch we can walk around and shop a little or grab a craft beer at Pearl & Pine.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God for gifting me the talent and passion to pursue photography. Seeing His beauty in everything.

My husband; Adam, he’s been my number one supporter and reminder to keep on going.
