Meet Henry K. Davies Jr. | Author, Entrepreneur, Educator, Musician,Youth Pastor, and Philanthropist, CEO Davies La Fourth LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Henry K. Davies Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Henry K., we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Ever since I was in elementary school my parents pushed me and my brother and sister to stay active in school and within the community. It was that push that inspired me to do more outside of my studies, I knew that it was more I could be doing outside of the 8hrs a day at school. I wanted more, I wanted to learn and do more. I saw my parents active in their careers and businesses, whether it was serving at church or doing community events. That was the drive I needed to want to become a boss at an early age. I knew there was always a need for services in areas that I had talent in such as music, dance, visual arts, fashion, education, and business. I knew that if I could master the skills needed to become successful in these areas. My business wouldn’t just be a single leveled company, but rather a diverse empire. My main goal to start Davies La Fourth LLC was to have a foundation to house and support all of the gifts and talents GOD blessed me and my family with. Doing this my business would be a one-stop-shop for anyone who needed services no matter the area of education, music, business, ministry, or health. I knew that companies would only have one main focal point of their services, but with Davies La Fourth LLC I could help eliminate individuals having to shop around for everything they needed. I’m a firm believer that your gifts will make way for your success. I practice this every day in business, to provide top-quality work and services that you won’t find anywhere else. My next step is to start hiring middle to high school students to intern under my company to help them earn credit and community service hours.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Being an entrepreneur is not easy. Majority of the time your vision goes over other people heads because as a visionary you sometimes find yourself living in another dimension of creativity and possibilities. While people on the outside looking in may think you’re crazy for thinking of ideas that is so radical. The thing that separates the successful and unsuccessful individuals in the world is one trait faith, which is something that I am full of. We are successful in what we do because we have crazy, untainted, and unmoved faith and whatever we put our minds and work towards will manifest. I set off to start Davies La fourth LLC as a one stop shop for all industry services including education, health and wellness, entertainment, photography, event rentals, community outreach and more. I was told at one point that there is no way you can run all of these businesses with such a small team (my wife and family). I took this as fuel to prove the naysayers wrong. Anything is possible. I believe the biggest lesson I learned in business is how to properly implement time management in your company. Davies La Fourth LLC has so many moving parts and it’s important to schedule out everything from meetings, social media posts, community events, giveaways, to product shipping. Time management will save you not only time and money, but save you from unnecessary stress. I really want to leave an impact through Davies La Fourth LLC. I’ve been a huge fan of Walt Disney and his journey to build the empire we see today. I know that one day I can build something similar and so the passion built inside of me to become the “Black Walt Disney.”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Knowing my best friends I know the first stop on the list is any spot containing food. So I’ll get the food spots out the way first. For breakfast I would have them stop by GutBusters on Candler Rd to try their breakfast bowls. Next, for lunch would be SGT Watts Soul Food off of Memorial Drive and Wyman St in Atlanta, GA. I guarantee you they have the best mac and cheese and greens in the city. Lastly, they have to go to the Cheesecake Factory, which is my favorite spot to grab a good late night meal. As far as hanging out, I know my best friend is really into cars. I would point him in the direction of the nearest Andretti’s Indoor Karting and games so he could experience the rush of racing on the indoor track.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My success is due to GOD, so I would like to acknowledge that He is the head of my life and my family. I would like to thank my beautiful family, my wife for always loving ,praying and pushing me, my kids for encouraging me, my mother for always supporting me, my brother and sister for always having my back. I would always like to thank my church family Hope for Tomorrow ,my friends and community for being a support system for me.
