Meet Helena Shorinolu | Entrepreneur -Founder of SHO Foods& YOBO Products

We had the good fortune of connecting with Helena Shorinolu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Helena, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process in starting SHO Foods & YOBO Products started during the pandemic which I had to temporarily close my spa Helena Maxx because of the face to face interaction and state restrictions.
Enjoy cooking and feeding others and have always been advised to create my own cookbook by family and friends.
I love to make up my meal recipes and also love making cultural dishes for family friends and guests.
Creating SuyaSpice Cravings cookbook I decided to turn it into a brand.
I named it SHO Foods because my last name Shorinolu. Having been influenced by my mothers amazing cooking skills Mama SHO, I thought SHO Foods would be a great name for my cooking start up business.
I noticed a lot of people had time during the quarantine period and where asking me for a lot of food tutorials on the dishes I had made for them. So I decided to register my company and release my cookbook and Seasoning/ Sauces product under SHO Foods & YOBO Products. Then distributed my books on Amazon as a self publisher and local Bookstores.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My biggest achievement so far is being a Book Author. To thing I cooked all the meals created the recipes and took all the images on my iPhone to now see it on Bookshelves is so incredible.
It was not easy promoting and marketing the book as to everything seems to be. goin g digital and the plan I had envision was to sell more hard copies of my book. However I have decided to go into promoting the ebook version more since it is easily accessible for all readers.
SHO Foods & YOBO products brand that introduces you on how you to incorporate cultural dishes by focusing on your herbs and seasoning aspect to perfect the right flavors.
A percentage of my book goes to Adolescent kids to help them in any area that they may need ie. Food Clothes Living or more.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favaroite spot Iron Age Blazain Seafood anything with outdoor activities.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
