We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Rivera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I’ve asked myself this question many times over the course of four years since starting my first business, and for me it has always just gone back to whether or not if I want to be stagnant in life, and for me it is like a game for myself to see how better I can keep getting each year. Since I have started it has been far from easy, from building my network, getting out of my comfort zone and making content or door knocking in the cold and rainy days, down to clients terminating every other month. These are the days that push me to continue to grow, reflect and learn. You need the intense hard days because I know right around the corner God has something special waiting for me around the corner.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’ve been in the business of Real Estate for 4 years. I would say what sets me apart from other REALTORS is my energy integrity, and transparency. I am looking forward to the near future and how I will improve/change over the years when servicing my clients. You can really get to where you want to be with right mindset, hard work and having a great support team. If something is easy then I do not want it, of course it would be nice. right? But I have found that you TRULY appreciate things more when you put a little work into it. A few lessons that I have learned along the way is #1 Do not drop the ball, there is someone always waiting their turn. #2 Treat everyone equally no matter their price point #3 Be kind to yourself, there was a point where you wished to be in a place you were in #4 Continue to plant your seeds even if you think nothing is happening over night. A few things I would like people to know about me and my brand is that when it comes to real estate, you will always have a friend that represents your best interests and receive a A1 customer service experience.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you are planning to stay a week in Atlanta. There are a few places you will want to eat at is Ponce City Market, they have an enormous selection of foods from all cultures, and if you are looking for some great mocktails, Tulum in Buckhead is a great spot. If you are looking to have fun you can always go to do some VR in Atlanta at the Sandbox, Georgia Aquarium or even Coca-Cola Factory. spa day needed? Spaland. Amicalola Falls has great hiking trails and you’ll be able to see a beautiful waterfall.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wish I could give credit to atleast one person but I needed an amazing team of women behind me.
Kristen Crisp aka Mama K- was my first real estate coach and she was nothing short from being amazing, down to helping with my business and personally. She let me know that I deserve nothing but the best and stay consistent in all things that you love.
Lindsey Haas- great mentor and friend, she taught me how to have a great eye and to be stern when negotiating deals or working with clients. Don’t take no Sh*& !
Darlene Smith- Mentor, friend, and auntie. She taught me to have a little base in my voice even when feeling uncomfortable in rooms I did not even want to be.
Denise Thompson- Mentor, friend. She taught me how to stay genuine to who I am.
Brandy Black- A great friend, was always there when I needed a push of confidence.
