We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Khodadadi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One thing that I have learned about blogging that I wasn’t aware of prior to starting The Lifeschooler is the amount of time it takes to build your site and following. As your write and create, you find your voice and discover how you want what you have to share to be presented. Currently, I am working on redesigning my website to make it more user friendly. Also, the amount of time I spend on my social media platforms is fairly extensive. Since I am the only person behind the scenes at The Lifeschooler, I have come to realize how time intensive blogging is.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
A lesson that I have learned is that not everything has to be done today. When I first started blogging, I felt that I need to write a lot of content quickly. It was incredibly stressful. Now, I take my time because I have learned that not only am I writing and sharing my ideas with my current followers, that I am creating it for my future followers as well.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friend and I would more than likely have children in tow. Therefore, we’d need some family friendly options. For a week of kid-friendly fun, we’d probably visit Fernbank Museum, Zoo Atlanta, and Stone Mountain. For something a little quieter, we’d probably take the kids to paint some pottery at the House of Clay in Braselton after high tea at Ferguson’s on the Square.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to thank my wonderful family for their continued support on this journey. My husband is my constant rock and sounding board. My children are key and are great sports when it comes to documenting the work we do in our homeschool. I couldn’t do any of this without them.
