We had the good fortune of connecting with Harmoniah Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Harmoniah, how do you define success?
To me, success means achieving your goals and completing the tasks you set out to do in a reasonable timeframe. Personally, when I think of success, I get motivated to continue pushing forward each day. What motivates me may not motivate the next person; however, the feeling of completing a special project, financial gain, ownership, receiving new opportunities, and more are all things attainable through hard work and never giving up. I plan to continue taking goal-setting seriously for my entrepreneurial journey and as a key part of my personal development as well. Being able to follow my passion and do what I love makes me feel whole, which allows me to put my all into having a more satisfying and successful career.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I had the opportunity to work directly with major corporations such as Forbes and Grads of Life early on in my transition into the entertainment industry. Collaborating with these globally influential brands gave me the confidence I needed to move forward and effectively represent my own brand. Recently, I released my first music single worldwide titled “Lost in You”, composed solely by me and released independently by my entertainment company, “Harmless Entertainment LLC.”I landed a lead role in a TV series that will premiere on TUBI in 2023. I’m a very multi-skilled and talented individual. Although I spend time creating in different avenues just like some others, what makes me different is that I do a lot of major work on the business side within my LLC directly to ensure the operation runs smoothly and efficiently. I’m ambitious, self-motivated, and passionate about everything I set my mind on. I’m most excited about connecting with my target audience more. Booking more gigs that get me on your TV screen for commercials, shows, films, award shows, and so much more. I’ve learned that staying true to yourself is very important. Also, business and personal can be mixed because relationship building is key in the entertainment business. Life can be a roller coaster sometimes, but I’ve learned to hold on tight. Risk can come with some hazards, so I’ve learned over time that you have to be very smart about each next step and why it’s being done. To me, risk can also lead to opportunities. So it’s important to take leaps of faith and take chances. I would consider myself a risk-taker. Taking chances feels like a large part of my entire life thus far. I moved to Atlanta, Georgia, from Grand Rapids, Michigan, all on my own, at the age of 16, to start my adult career. Even at that age, I recognized that taking risks was a requirement for success. What I mean is that if you don’t take risks in life, you will not go far. It’s necessary for growth. For example, a few of my roles require that I take risks during an acting audition or when I create music projects, experiment with different vocals and instruments, and then put them out for the world and leaders to see. I started from the bottom, and now I am here. Literally. If I can do it, so can you, and I truly want to inspire others to know that through everything I touch in this universe. My brand represents polished leadership experience, hand work, consistency, passion, and unity.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to explore new places and nature as much as possible. I enjoy showing visitors from out of town around town when they come to visit. I typically put together a versatile itinerary full of historic site seeing, local events, and entertainment. It never fails that I take visitors to the best Korean spa, whose business name is JeJu. This place provides everything for self-care, healing, and personable connections. You can also stay a full day and night at this place. I’m a Vegan/Vegetarian with a broad range of cuisines I enjoy eating. I love trying out black owned businesses with great reviews that are either on my starred Google list or somewhere new I’ve never been.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to thank my Korn Ferry Advance Career & Leadership Coach Ryan Frechette. He has helped me during my professional and business transition into a different industry. Our monthly meetings have provided me with great feedback, knowledge, resources, and motivation I need to continue succeeding confidently.
