Meet Harmoniah Carter | Actress, Composer, Artist, Producer, Director and CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Harmoniah Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Harmoniah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Ownership is a very powerful thing to have in the world. I’ve always been so committed to the corporations I’ve worked for in the past that I knew it only made sense to do just that for something I could start on my own. By establishing my own LLC business, I wanted to showcase that I’m serious about my talents, legacy, and overall business operation leadership abilities. Over time, I’ve also received feedback that it’s fairly easy to lose yourself in the entertainment business. My vow is to always “stay true to myself” along the journey in this industry. Having my own business allows me to do just that. I’ll have the ability to work on my artistic visions and maintain creative control over the direction of my overall career and partnerships.

What should our readers know about your business?
I came into the entertainment industry not just as a creative but also as a businesswoman. I’ve worked in corporate information technology and financial services for 7 years. Obtaining corporate leadership experience over the years has helped mold me all around in different areas of business to be successful in crossing over into a new industry. Over the past two years, I’ve continued to apply everything I’ve previously learned to help create and lead my own business, Harmless Entertainment LLC. I strongly believe organizational structure and leadership skills are very important. I keep that in mind when operating my business, partnering, and collaborating with others. I’m most excited about what’s to come for my acting, composing, and producing careers. Furthermore, I believe I’ve gotten to where I am today by being very committed to everything I do, utilizing all resources available to learn more, continuously obtaining new skill sets, and never giving up. What makes me proud is truly accomplishing the goals I set for myself and my business. Also, being able to put my creative arts into the universe. Each and every day, I’m learning new things as I embark on this next chapter in my life. I plan to continue being relentless. I have humility, yet I’m very confident in my abilities to achieve anything I strive for and set my mind to. On this journey in the creative space, I plan to maximize my potential. So far, it hasn’t been easy, but it hasn’t all been hard. Constantly learning that sometimes things work themselves out overtime and not to stress at the moment too much.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I absolutely love trying new foods and nature. With that being said, Atlanta has some amazing establishments where you can get the best of both worlds. One of my favorite places to visit in the city is Ponce City Market, connected to the Beltline. It’s such a great atmosphere to unwind, relax, and rejuvenate. I visit at least once a month and enjoy spreading my love by supporting different businesses each time I visit. I’ve built relationships with a few owners. Therefore, I sometimes stop by to make a purchase or simply converse.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give special thanks to God. It’s very important that along my journey I continue to have a faith base and recognize that I couldn’t do half of what I’ve been doing successfully all on my own. I’m a true believer in a higher power. Life can be a rollercoaster. I haven’t always had close support to assist me along the way. However, knowing there is always a higher being watching over me, I continue to strive for greatness each and every day with spiritual strength.
