Meet Harley Brown

We had the good fortune of connecting with Harley Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Harley, how do you think about risk?
I actually like risk because even if the risk doesn’t go in your favor, you have the experience and also you can say you know rather than always wondering what could’ve happened. At the end of 2019 I took a major risk and moved 11 hours away from my home state of Maryland to Atlanta, Georgia because I felt that was the place I needed to be . That risk paid off so well as I was the most successful and productive I’ve ever been. Even my beginnings as a content creator were all about me taking risk with new skills and that paying off tremendously by gaining supporters that have followed me throughout my entire journey. I think risk is a part of entrepreneurship, you simply cannot be an entrepreneur without taking risk, although you want to try to make the risk as calculated as possible you can never really determine the outcome when it comes to creating your own business and being in charge of your own income. Risk has played a very essential role to my growth in business. Being a mother of two With minimal support trying to scale a business is one of the most riskiest things I have done in my life, but I don’t regret it. I believe taking a risk on myself is way smarter than trying to build someone else’s dream or work paycheck to paycheck. I bet it all on myself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is very spiritual and unique to me, due to my vast knowledge of astrology and other concepts that help you learn yourself, my art touches people energetically and spiritually in a way that most others just can’t. When I work with my clients 1 on 1 or even when I’m online sharing my gifts, the reaction and feedback always lets me know that I am unique & I resonate on a different level. My work is very specific for each individual that I come across. I have been studying astrology for over 25 years and being that; that’s majority of my life, I don’t come across many people in my space that can deliver life-changing information the way that I do. Believe it or not sharing my gifts and creativity was not the hard part. The challenging part has been navigating the business side because as an artist or creative the logistics and numbers isn’t always my strong suit but being in business has built my maturity levels to understand that any successful business has great management and organization on the backend. I have overcome most challenges by hanging in there and figuring it out as I go, I am currently the only entrepreneur in my family and don’t have much personal support to turn to so honestly being plugged into the worldwide web/social media and being inspired by those who are living lives sort of similar to the one I want has always propelled me forward. I am not a jealous person and I celebrate other success, as a life coach, I live to see other people successful and I am also inspired by those who took similar risks and won. I will not say that I’ve overcome all the challenges that I’m facing right now I can just say giving up is never an option so I just have to figure it out like I’ve been doing since 2014 when I started this journey. The biggest thing that I’ve learned along the way is to value myself as an empathetic soul I tend to over give and when you over give in business, it can cost you greatly. I have learned to rest, not overwork myself and go at my own pace instead of feeling pressured by societies unrealistic expectations of entrepreneurs. I have also learned how much I inspire others by just going after my dreams. What I want people to know about my brand is that my brand is all about empowerment, I truly believe in helping people and elevating them. If f you interact with my brand in anyway, I would hope that you gain something positive each and every time. If you’ve ever worked with me, you know I go above and beyond to make sure you leave the session with me feeling motivated empowered and progressive.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, my best friend and I are nature enthusiasts so we would definitely have to start off the trip at Sweetwater park and do some exploring on the trails then we would hit up Tin Lizzy for their amazing tacos and maybe hit a comedy show at The Laughing Skull Lounge. I would also love to take my friend to the beltline. And then had to the Royal Peacock for some actual dancing, not too many clubs do too much dancing nowadays. Then we would have to visit the rivers in Lithonia and spend a good day out there as it’s so beautiful, peaceful and serene. We could then hit up Studio Movie Grill to catch a movie with drinks and dinner, more movie theaters need to integrate the concept of having food and good drinks during a movie. It’s an epic experience to me. After a day at the spa, we have to visit slutty vegan for a Sloppy Toppy and the amazing fries. Shout out to pinky Cole..Then we could hit up the Monticello in Marietta to have a good time with some other grown folks, that club always has a good vibe. And then I would just want to spend time at home hosting my best friend cooking and having a good time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to think the family members who have supported me along my journey and my followers/supporters who believe in me and are the reason for my success
