We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Nichols and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose to pursue a creative career, because I have always been an artistic individual. I am a hands on person who has always had a love for art. Growing up, I would draw for hours and create my own crafts like wall hangings, paintings, and decor. Creating art can be exciting, relaxing, and sometimes frustrating, but I love to see the beauty that one can create with their hands and imagination.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My photography is known for being moody and ‘cinematic’. I like to play with light and shadows to evoke emotion within an image. When I began taking photos of live bands, the feedback that I was receiving was that my images had a nuance to them that was almost like a movie. After hearing that, I knew that I wanted my photography to come to life and tell a story. I wanted my clients and followers to feel immersed within my photos when they look at them, in the same way they would be captivated with a movie, book, or TV series that they are fully invested in. My photos tell the story.
I really love what I do; it drives me. With each new photography booking comes excitement and a little bit of anxiousness. I love to challenge myself with becoming creative and asking myself, “What’s next?” I also cherish the relationships I get to build with my clients over the years. It truly brings me joy when I return a gallery and I am greeted with their excitement.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give a shoutout to my husband, Warren Nichols. He has helped me immensely throughout these past five years in helping me turn my love of photography into my profession. He pursues his own passion for a living and inspires me to do the same. Warren is a professional singer and keyboardist, and I actually play bass guitar myself. We often even play shows together. We strive to embrace our passions and use our skills to make our living.
