We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Elizabeth and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hannah, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind Sweet Designs By Hannah is, I get to do what I love! My creative talent to bake some amazing tasting products that come out looking amazing always excited me. Then to hand it over to a client who shares the same level of joy or excitement makes my brand worth it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At my boutique home bakery I offer a line of gourmet cakes that are eye appealing to all and taste amazing. I also accommodate custom cakes to match any theme, style, or color of an event. Cake is just the beginning, I offer amazing brownies, cookies, rice Krispy treats, cake pops and many other treats. Mondays and Tuesday I do weekly local deliveries of cake slices and other yummy treats. You can find out what’s on the weekly menu by following sweet.designsbyhannah on Facebook or Instagram. I have been in the dessert industry since 2010 and prior to that baking has been a hobby. In 2016 I got into custom cakes at a bakery I worked at. In 2020 I became a Stay at home mom to care for my newborn during the lockdown of the world. I couldn’t leave baking on a back burner so I started studying ingredients that I used in baking and what there roll in each baked goods and created my own recipes. I created something not overly sweet but a product that is very enjoyable. Through the trial and errors I posted flash bake sales and sold my items and received feedback that helped me create the product I serve today. In 2021 my family move to Atlanta and I was excited to bring joy to my new community with my sweet treats. I started offering local delivery and gained a supportive community who was excited to try my sweets. They kept me going this far. I have very many regulars that are so appreciated. I love hearing feedback and being inspired by my communities flavor ideas. Wedding season is approaching and i’m excited to create a stunning delicious cakes for our Atlanta weddings. I support love in all forms and wish to offer and amazing experience booking for all couples. I’ll help bring creative ideas out by asking questions to create a custom Cake for any special occasion. I’ve collaborated with 4 chefs here in Atlanta where they offer my cake in addition to their amazing food. I’m also looking for more ways to expand and network, and support other entrepreneurs. Sweet Designs By Hannah would love to be a part of your next get together. No order is to small or to big. No matter how silly or how intricate your ideas may seem I’d love to work with you. My clients are confident in booking with me as they know they will receive raving compliments on the cake they booked for their event. Being a mompreneur building my brand in Atlanta has not been easy but has been so worth it. I’ve learned you can make excuses, or you can try your hardest and make your dream possible. My kids love seeing my cakes come together and it motivates me and makes me appreciate my talent. Sweet Designs by Hannah has allowed me the freedom and growth I needed to support my family.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was in the area for a week we would definitely have to grab some coffee from 404 coffee and check out some of the mural art projects around Atlanta, we would definitely have to stop by Argosy in East Atlanta for some pizza an the amazing menu they offer. We would spend time ride scooter along the belt line. Have some ice cream from Morellies gourmet ice cream. Breakfast sandwiches from Emerald city bagles. They are the best! Kinotori Ramen in ponce would definitely be a stop we would make. My best friend love Italian food and Granas is a must they have amazing meatballs, pasta and pizza.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout to East Atlanta! I’ve came to Atlanta knowing no one and my community grew to love and support me so much! I appreciate the whole community. But I do own Mrs. Sherri from Blessing Bags of Warmth, and Mrs. Lisa Cox a special shout out for all the motivation, encouragement, support, love, and friendship though the journey of building my brand in Atlanta.
