We had the good fortune of connecting with Handitova and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Handitova, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think about risk as nothing ventured, nothing gained, sometimes you have to take a step out into unknown territory to get results good or bad. The role that taking risks has played in my life/career has played a key one, without taking risks I would have never known what I could or could not do. It allowed things that started as ideas to turn into reality. Hence the start of Handitova. Taking risks goes hand in hand with progress.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Handitova was started for the community by the community. Serving our community is the main and important goal. Unlike other startups here in Atlanta we were built on the thought of being able to highlight small business while simultaneously creating jobs for people in Metro Atlanta and also its surrounding areas. Being a tech startup with no technical background has been tough for the most part but we knew what the consequences were and pushed forward anyway. Putting our brains together and seeing what we could come up with was honestly the best part. We had nothing and now look at what we have built. We are regular hard working individuals that had an idea and wanted to put actions behind our thoughts. Along the way we ran into a lot of road blocks as any beginning company has but that hasn’t stopped us and it never will. We want the world to know that you don’t have to make excuses for what you can’t do, anything is possible with a vision and hard work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many places around Atlanta. To plan a week full of excitement for my best friend I would start by visiting the High Museum of Art to look at the exhibitions featured. Then explore what the Atlanta Beltline has to offer with it’s night life, specifically “illuminarium” which has beautiful visuals. Next I would love my best friend to visit Ponce City Market and Little Five Points to do some shopping and enjoy eating great food. The atmosphere is full of fun! Lastly, to wind down the week trip we would enjoy the scenic views with a hike up Stone Mountain.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly I would like to thank our team and our support system. It takes dedication and teamwork to build something special and that is what we have here at Handitova.
