We had the good fortune of connecting with Halle Neeley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Halle, what do you attribute your success to?

The most important factor behind the success of Halle Neeley Events is authenticity. When I created my company, I was very intentional about naming the business after myself. I wanted to be held accountable for my client experience and I also wanted potential clients and vendors to know the name (or face) behind the brand. I’m working on intertwining more of me into my social media accounts so I can develop a more personable brand.

What should our readers know about your business?

I started my company after developing an obsession with weddings. The funny thing is, I’d never even experienced a wedding before I decided this is what I wanted to do. deciding this is what I wanted to do. Aside from tv and the internet I didn’t know everything that went into planning an event. I tried my hand at mentor opportunities but for some reason they always seemed to fall through. So, I took it upon myself to learn by doing – a very painful decision but I learned a lot and I learned it FAST. However, there was this one year or two I was just physically worn out. I was very discouraged and I honestly just felt stuck. I’m thankful I developed friends within the industry who continued to inspire and encourage me. I am most proud of being resilient and making an effort to learn from my mistakes. I’ve come to realize, when things go wrong and they will, there is almost always a lesson to be learned. Also, get out of your own way! If you have an idea, especially the crazy ones – you should go for it! Don’t give you (yourself)  time to count yourself out. Halle Neeley Events is here to stay and things are happening. I can’t wait for you to see what we have in store!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Surprisingly, the wedding planner in me does not like to plan trips – is that odd? But if its my best friend visiting town, I just have to make sure she enjoys herself, this is what we’re going to do — Sunday: 12:00 pm Lunch at JCT Kitchen and Ice Cream at Jeni’s at Westside Provisions. JCT has a delicious fried chicken salad and the mojitos are absolutely incredible. After we have a “somewhat” healthy salad, I’m grabbing two scoops of Frose (yes, in a cone) from Jeni’s. Yes, two! Monday: 1:00 pm Visit Centennial Olympic Park and nosh on almond butter and banana toast from Kale Me Crazy. I tried to make this almond butter and banana toast at home and it does not compare. Tuesday: 3:00 pm Grab a Husky from Slim and Husky’s. You can have a Slim or Husky for $10. I love to eat so I’ll have the Red Light Special Husky and the O.G Cinnamon Rolls. BOMB! Wednesday: 5:00 pm Happy Hour at The Spa at Four Seasons Atlanta Did I mention you get two-25 minute treatments and a glass of champagne for about $100?! Afterwards, we’ll have fresh fruit and lounge by the indoor pool. Thursday: 4:00 pm Dessert and Wine at Seven Lamps. I love the chocolate cake and a glass of red wine. If she’s in the mood for shopping, we can swing by Lenox Square or Phipps Plaza. Friday: 7:00 pm Slutty Vegan You can’t come to Atlanta and not have Slutty Vegan right? The best part is, there’s no guilt because its all vegan. Saturday: 10:00 am Brunch at The Lawrence Although you’re technically in Midtown, the patio dining makes you feel tucked away and is super quiet. As you can see, I made the mornings pretty open. We’re most likely sleeping in and watching The Office, so there you have it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would be remised if I didn’t shout out my closest girlfriends and my family. I’m sure my mom and I watched every season of Bridezillas and My Fair Wedding during my teenage years. This sparked my initial interest and my girlfriends and family carried me the rest of the way. From gifting me with business books to helping with photo shoots all the way to allowing me to plan two of their weddings – I would not be who I am or where I am without them. I am truly blessed.
