We had the good fortune of connecting with Haley Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Haley, why did you pursue a creative career?
Pursuing a more creative career was not my first option. I thought of becoming a psychiatrist, which I still feel like I am in my profession. I wanted to be able to express myself but, also make people feel wonderful about themselves at the same time.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always been a very open minded person and coming from a small town that was not really the way things typically go. They have a certain way that everything needs to be or away that you need to be and unfortunately that’s not me. I moved to Atlanta and it has been the best decision I have ever made. I love surrounding myself with amazing people who love and are interested in what you have to offer. I love my job as a stylist.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would start brunch at my favorites Folk Art in Inman Park. Venture our way around the Highlands to Murphy’s for lunch maybe and then dinner we would end at a Brazilian steakhouse in Buckhead Fado de Chio or Barcelona Wine bar. We always love a good walk on the beltline heading to Ponce City Market for some shopping and a quick cocktail at Bar Vegan.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A lot of my success comes from my childhood and being pushed by my family to do great things in life and to be happy as well.
