Hi Hakim, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want to be remembered for being the man that helped save and empower our communities with financial literacy, love, unity, and leadership!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an entrepreneur and financial consultant focusing on helping the underserved communities. I’m the Sam’s Club of personal and business finance helping with business funding, business/personal loans, online banking, auto refinance, mortgages and more.

What sets me apart from others is really the fact that my journey in this industry started because I was taken advantage of when I purchased a car while being ignorant of credit. I have personal pain & experience attached to why I want to help others. I know how it feels to save $200 a month on a car payment you struggled your hardest to make. I know what it feels like to not have lights on at home when you got off work too. I want us all to win and I’ll go above and beyond to do better tomorrow than we’re doing today and achieve your goals.

My journey has not been easy and I invested a lot into my own personal development. Always learning and adapting is apart of the journey, but always be a student and continue to grow. There are levels to everything and your personal development will take you to new levels in life. Upon my prison release I became a waiter at a restaurant, the assistant manager at the restaurant, the general manager at the same restaurant; the whole time working there I earned my bachelors degree in information technology, became licensed in life insurance, studied the financial industry and worked on personal growth. The key is to never stop growing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m like a year now in this area but always moving around, but my favorite place right now is The Juicy Crab so we would go there to get drinks and seafood for sure. There is also another spot that has amazing food and the best grits and fish I’ve ever had in my life that’s Apache XLR. They have an amazing vibe, live music and amazing food. Other than those spots I would show them around to some amazing real estate in the area so we could come up with new ideas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to definitely shout out my mother. She has been super supportive in anything I ever thought of doing, but more than that she also been great at giving me advice. She deserves the recognition for sure
