We had the good fortune of connecting with Hajara Dan-musa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hajara, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Having my own business was conceived and birthed out of the desire to take control over my finances. Although, my legal academic background provided me with numerous opportunities to scale through as a legal professional, I had little to no control over my financial security due to the uncertainties of a collar job in today’s job market.

In addition, I had such a strong passion for my craft and the works of my hand gave me the ultimate fulfilment. I was self motivated , highly committed and my focal point wasn’t geared towards just the money but mainly towards client utmost satisfaction.

Although staring a business or running one wasn’t a piece of cake, it gave me autonomy over my time, aided my creative thinking capabilities, gained mastery knowledge of my industry and provided me financial security.

I basically wanted to create something for myself that no one can take away.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I specialize in creating Human Hair Custom wigs. I primarily deal with a variety of lace fronts and virgin hair.

My business has been running for 4years, it has come with tough days, tough decisions and most certainly tough clients. My passion for hair did not allow the situations deter me, instead it shaped me into making better business decisions.

I thrive on making my clients look stunning and creating the wig that best suits the occasion or lifestyle. It has been a lucrative career but more importantly, I am most fulfilled when my clients are satisfied.

Custom wigs are created based on clients specifications, which ranges from wig size, hair type, lace preference, colour and style. It’s a whole 9 yard from transforming hair pieces to perfectly created wig for daily/occasional glam.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My city is a mix of various ethical background so there is a lot of spice to the environment. For a long week trip, it would ultimately depend on what my friend considers fun and if she is opened minded to explore the city and be adventurous.

Let’s assume she agrees to be open minded, this would be the itinerary;

1. Continental breakfast at Bobby’s Hideaway
2. Explore Riverwood: 150-acre park with historical buildings. A day of hiking the trails and exploring more than 475 species of animals and plants.
3. Patio dinner with wine and the gently evening breeze

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My success and achievements are anchored primarily to my Lord Jesus Christ, the foundation on which my business was built. My spouse Oluwole Adeoye was a pillar and a bedrock with his unwavering support. My mum Mojisola Akinsanya and my siblings Okubukola Dan-musa , Oladipo Dan-musa & Tomi Fagbola were my cheerleaders and support system in achieving my dreams.

I would also like to acknowledge my dearest friend and business mogul Tosin Aibinu (Alabi) for pushing me, educating me and offering assistance through my journey.

Overall, I wouldn’t be where I am today without this incredible personnels in my life.
