We had the good fortune of connecting with H.E.F the Prophet and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi H.E.F the Prophet, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We wanted to cut the middle man out of the business and do everything ourselves. It’ was always more expensive to have someone else get something done, as well as it wasn’t always the best quality, so we took matters into our own hand. Once we got good at that side of things it became far more easy for us to continue our goals quickly, the way we wanted to pursue them.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It took time to get where I am today, which is still far from where i plan to be in the near future. I think the biggest thing that sets me apart is the pure quality of music and media we produce. Whether it’s a song, video, or even a simple Instagram post, there’s always so much thought and quality control that goes into what we put out. Especially as an “independent” artist, it helps to not just get things out for a quantity aspect, and instead focus on the quality side of things.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The love I have for Atlanta is unbeaten, so I have far too many spots to put people on to. Before I put people on to my hidden gems, I have to show them our staple spots, like JR Crickets, and The Varsity. Even though these are more tourist locations, it is the perfect representation of food and atmosphere of the city. Other spots like Fat Man’s and JJ’s are still popular and definitely some of my favorite food, and the sundial is my best date spot to get a view of the city. My all time favorite however has to be American Deli, an Atlanta staple.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people I could shout out, but the biggest has to be Harrison Floyd. As the CEO, he quickly took things into his own hands to get us infront of the right people at the right time. This has put us with industry artists, producers, engineers, and promoters to build the best possible team. Even though I handle most creative aspects for the music itself, Harrison has excelled in all the backend work, which is greatly why our tandem works so well.
