We had the good fortune of connecting with Graciela Carrau-Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Graciela, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
The world that we currently live in revolves around “the grind, the hustle” and although, it is an incredible motivator to pursue ones passions, it can also hinder our ability to find balance between life and business. Balance for me is about prioritizing, making time for the things that are important like staying active and spending quality time with my family. For me, now that I work full time that looks a little bit different. I have establish a routine that allows me workout and get ready for my day of work before 7 am, and my night routine are more to get ready for the next morning and catch up with family and friends. Balance will always change and look different depending on where we are in life, we just need to remind ourselves to find it and not let an aspect of our life overpower the rest.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Chiropractor in the beautiful city of Suwanee, Ga and I work with families, specially pregnant moms and kiddos. I think what sets me apart as a practitioner is that I will above and beyond to provide the best care to my patients, from adjustments to recommendations for a healthier life. My journey to becoming a chiropractor was interesting to say the least. I started my undergrad in Biology at Georgia state university ( #GoPanthers) with the goal to go to medical school. At the end of my freshmen year, I realize that I didn’t like biology except for the nervous system, and my view about health didn’t align with the current medical system. I changed my major to Neuroscience, but I was still trying to figure our what to do after. I knew that I wanted to explore careers in healthcare that will allow me to use my love for Neuroscience. Around the same time I started to have some health issues, and I could not find a solution through medicine. I started getting chiropractic care and soon after I started to feel my health improve. That’s how my interest in chiropractic started to grow. Later, I went to get more information about the Chiropractic program at Life University and I fell in love with their mission and the community on campus. I started the program the fall of 2018, and they were 3.5 challenging years. Many long hours of studying, missed celebrations, a pandemic, tears and laughs later I graduated with my doctorate degree the summer of 2022. Now, thanks to the support and trust of my mentors, we opened LifeGiving Chiropractic Suwanee May 2023 and could not be more excited to grow with the community help them achieve their health goals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Uff ATL is my favorite city! Ever since I move here 9 years ago this city has not stop surprising me! But I also live in Gwinnett so lets explore both.

To eat…. food halls are my number one love! Chattahoochee Food works (The works) is my favorite because of the cuisine diversity for a more classy vibe Politian Row at Colony square. There we could Get some good italian food at Serena Pastificio or grab a drink at Jojo’s beloved. In the gwinnett area Falling Rabbit gives all the evening vibes, Local Republic and Añejo are two other wonderful spots.

Visit… a walk through Pidemont park is always awesome, we could go to the rooftop at Ponce City Market to enjoy the city views, or even book shopping at Virginia Highland books..

Coffee… Cafe Amico, break coffee roasters, Warm Waves coffee roasters (gwinnett)/ St. Germain’s cafe or a classic like Cafe Intermezzo

Drinks… El malo, Palo Santo, The den are great spots. In the gwinnett area The rooftop and Slow Pour brewery.
