Meet Grace Johnson-Wright | Multi-CEO, Dance Studio Owner, Dance Educator, Artist Developer, Mentor & Momprenuer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Grace Johnson-Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Grace, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Passion and Freedom.
Dance is my passion along with pouring into the future of today’s youth; I love being apart of their world and teaching them things I wish I knew when I was their age. Freedom for me is being able to get up each day and do what you love to do for work. If you do what you love, you’ll never work a single day!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Neema Dance Collective (NDC) is a performance based DANCE STUDIO & COMPANY comprised of local dance students, professional, and pre-professional dancers that study and perform a variety of dance styles.
NDC Dynasty Jr. Dance Company and NDC Company is dedicated to performing compelling dance pieces to various audiences, displaying and enhancing each member’s technique and performance quality, and preparing the local and ever growing pre-professional population of dancers through graceful movement and aesthetic choreography.
How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy?
I never stopped getting the word out about my business. I believe in fair business and always come through on all of my committments. I continue to find ways to show that my product works. It has not been an easy road. I took a lot of losses and advice to get to where I am today. I’ve learned to be proactive, know where and how I wanted my business to grow. Give and take opportunities when and where it makes sense to do so. I’ve learned to trust the process and build a solid team around me that had strengths that I lacked.
Neema Dance Collective is the premiere franchised dance studio where training and family are our top priority for minority students.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shoutout my parents who made the first investment in me by actually seeing and knowing that I had the gift of dance and performance. They made me take dance and vocal lessons at a very young age and made huge financial investments for me from ages 4-21. Their investment has now touched over 1000 dancers as my business continues to reach dancers all over.
